Stayed here two days while exploring Mojave National Preserve. Great place!!! Over 100 years old historic hotel that served the railroad/mining trade. Rooms are small but open on to a very spacious and comfortable common area with microwave, fridge, bottled water, coffee, tea, etc. You do share a couple baths but it was never a problem and they are right... My wife and I spent a couple of nights here while visiting the Mojave National Preserve. We loved it. A unique, but very nice and comfortable motel. It is located. in the center of Nipton, CA. Just down the road is Searchlight, NV. Which is a somewhat unique town in its own right.

Something completely different. That sums up the HOTEL NIPTON. It's quaint and historic. It's unlike most other hotels and a good choice if you want an old style hotel. Nipton, California, population 6, is several miles off the I-15 near the Nevada border and the Mojave Nature Preserve. The Hotel Nipton was built in the early 1900's and the front... More

My husband and I spent the week end at the lovely Nipton Hotel! What a wonderful place. We chose a room, as all of the cabins were occupied. The hotel is right on the edge of the Mojave Reserve. At first, I thought I might encounter a bunch of rednecks. Everyone was so kind and generous. We relaxed the entire... More

This tiny hotel at the edge of the desert is an amazing treasure albeit in the need of some TLC. We found it a bit dark and dusty, with clusters of dead moths behind the window panes, a dusty collection of National Geographics from like the seventies, and an old sticky coffee maker that could definitely stand to be washed... Jim rules! Stayed at the hotel. Very cute. Wanna try a cabin next time i'm through that way. Jim set us up for a late check in. Everything was smooth as glass. If you're going to the park it starts just behind the place. Rates are good.

Just next to Mojave Desert is the ONLY place you should stay when visiting the preserve. In Nipton, which is just a country store and a few houses is a tiny hotel, which is one of the cutest places I've ever stayed in small town US. Just a few comfy bedrooms with a living room and kitchen to share and... More

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in Nipton! Nipton is a great place to escape the city life, where it can be difficult to see the stars and relax. Unfortunately, we had to discontinue the use of the hot tub but that won't stop you from seeing the stars touch the horizon in Nipton! More

Hotel Nipton is an unlikely outpost at the edge of the Mojave National Preserve. I booked there for a week-long hiking trip in the Preserve, thinking I would just put up with a crummy nowhere motel experience; I planned to be out all day anyway. To my surprise the Nipton was a wonderful little place. It was a water, food,... More

How can you not love a place out in the middle if nowhere, whose only real saving grace is just that. The shower (down the hall) was Luke warm, there's nowhere to eat for 50 miles, and their Continental breakfast was some muffins that you can heat up in the microwave, if you know how to bang on it just... As others had written, this funky historic previous railroad community hotel is not for everyone but its the perfect spot for a post-camping trip. The rooms are clean, beds comfortable, free ice at attached country store which has beer, drinks, a few desert books, T-shirts, and California lottery tickets. We stayed in fm 5 with two twin beds...right across from... More
