Rubby is in a great location a few minutes away from the high street, the rooms are nice and bathrooms great with hot showers! Excellent wifi. Lovely host Norma who makes a good breakfast, as early as 5:30 am for bird watchers. Rooms have balconies and hammocks facing the cloud forest, and I saw tons of birds just from this...

We loved our stay here. Airy, clean rooms, hot water, great views from our porch. Norma provided us with one of the best breakfasts we had in Ecuador and was lovely to chat to. We also really appreciated her patience and encouragement with our Spanish speaking. The hostel is in a beautiful setting just a few minutes walk from town,...

Simple and clean. Super good price with an awesome view. Norma always available to provide you recommendations and hints on the surrounding. Highly recommend for budget travelers but not only. Last but not least Norma can recommend very professional bird watching guides.

It was a pleasure to stay at Rubby Hostal. It's located in a very quiet and tranquil place but just a short walk into the town. The room was clean and comfortable and the view was stunning. Norma is very kind and went out of her way to look after us. We particularly enjoyed the bird watching she arranged for...

To summarize: the hostel is run by an extremely kind and helpful woman who knows her way around the town. Everything you could ask for is available. It has towels, a great kitchen, hot water, and the best internet we've had so far. Plus a pair of rescued street puppies! Arriving late at night in Mindo, it was hard to...

Norma is really accommodating and took care of everything. We ran out of laundry & she washed it for us. She cleaned our room frequently. She even took care of booking us a bird watching tour. Her children are very sweet and help her around the hostel. She provided clean towels, changed the sheets and even helped us with our...

Great location (5 minute walk from the center of Mindo), excellent prices, and wonderful hosts. Norma, the owner, was very accommodating and helpful, and her English is great. There are often different members of the family hanging around the common area if you want to practice your Spanish, as they are all very friendly. The wifi (added bonus in the...
