We (two adults, two teenagers) stayed here as part of a tour with San Jorge which included the Quito and Tandayapa lodges. Our bedrooms were of a high standard and were spacious and comfortable. Both rooms had hammocks and views into the forest. The lodge is excellent and consists of three levels. The top level is a viewing gallery that... More

This is also a beautifull lodge. I stayed at the Milpe lodge. This place is great to visit. I did many hikes with a guide and saw many birds, even rare species. Very good service and good food. Stayed in a beautifull room with a view on the forest. Absolutely a good place to stay and enjoy nature.

This place was absolute paradise. The grounds were amazing with many beautiful walking g trails. We did the umbrella bird tour. First we went to the leking area, but the birds did not show up. The guides knew where to go next. We eventually found a male. The guides were certainly committed to making sure I saw one. The one... More

After spending time with photography and birding at San Jorge Quito and Tandayapa we found ourselves at San Jorge Milpe, the premier lodge of the San Jorge Magic Birding Circuit, for three days and two nights (for comments on Quito and Tandayapa see separate Trip Advisor posts). We were on a Senior Photographic Tour with added birding, as well as... More

We booked the 15 days birding tour with The Magic Birding Circuit Tours from Feb 1st - 15th, 2016. We dealt with Cheryl who is very patient and understanding. One of a number of lodges owned by Dr Jorge Cruz - each one unique. We had 4 days to spend in Ecuador for departing for Galapogas. We wanted to visit the forest and especially see humming birds. Dr Cruz suggested 1 day each in the Quito and Tandayapa and 2 days at Milpe. He arranged transport (which at times... More

We loved it at San Jorge de Milpe. The birds are all around you and there is an amazing network of trails through some spectacular forest. We spent 4 days there and kept on seeing new birds all the time. I could have easily stayed another 4 days and still enjoyed it. The food was some of the best food... More

We visited the lodge at Milpe as part of our Magic Birding Circuit Trip at the San Jorge Lodges. There we got the true rainforest experience.
