What an amazing place! The campsite is right next to the water and the beach is stunning both at low and high tides. Camp site and facilities are pretty basic - only 3 toilets for ladies, 1 toilet and 2 urinals for men, and 2...More

Friendly and welcoming hosts, always a smile. Facilities clean and adequate. We love the traditional kiwi laid back camping style of the campground. Great ambience for family holidays. Vehicle barrier arm a plus re security.More

We pride ourselves on been a truly traditional kiwi campground and I think we hit the mark in that aspect. It has been great watching the families here over the school holidays and good to see the kids catching fish. Thank you for your review...More

We stayed at this Holiday Park for a month and the site we were on was great, right next to the creek, sheltered from the wind and next to the facilities. The staff were always friendly and helpful able to make suggestions when queried. A...More

So glad you enjoyed your stay here at Wagener Holiday Park. It is nice to be sheltered from the wind especially on a cloudy day. Hope we see you again for another stay.

Stayed at lots of camp sites, this one is purely overrated, maybe because some travelers/locals go there often and has emotional value than what the place/camp offers. Extremely crowded, kitchens were the worst - not well equipped, not enough space to walk or store food...More

Thank you for your review on our park. I am surprised that you found the kitchen overcrowded at this time of the year, we have had quite a few quests in over the winter but they are mostly self contained in their vans so do...More

We arrived here by chance, and what a cute place in a beautiful setting. Not very busy in July, but they were very welcoming. Good playground for the kids, clean facilities and has family showers too. Take a walk around, you would otherwise never know...More

About
Description
Listed as number 3 of NZ’s top classic campgrounds by the NZ Herald, Wagener Holiday Park doesn’t pretend to be an expensive resort but provides many of the facilities you’d expect of one. Located on the Houhora More Harbour waterfront, the camp is nestled in a sheltered spot, has great views and is next to the beautiful Historic Wagener/Subritzky homestead & park. Some basic budget cabins are available but most people have their own tent or motorhome. Less
