Awapiriti Lodge was a delight. Hosts Maudie & Dean were welcoming, engaging and good company. Add to that Maudies's wonderful food and Dean's beer - the best in NZ! But, the bad news for you, readers, is that we were their last guests as they are moving away. We would give them 6 stars if we could!

Dean and Maudy are the most welcoming hosts making you feel part of the family as soon as you arrive at Awapiriti Lodge. We spent two very pleasant nights there on our way to the West coast. Maudy cooked for us both evenings, the food was delicious just as you would hope from a dear relative who has taken the...

Stayed with Maudie and Dean for two nights in November during our 6 1/2 week holiday in New zealand, good facilities and we very much enjoyed Maudies cooking both the breakfast and the evening meals. Fortunate to have tried Dean's home brew. I will let you into a little secret, Maudie is a very talented singer, on request she bursts...

Flat-out the best bed and breakfast on the road to (or from) Murchison. The home cooked evening meal was awesome, the home-made breakfast granola and jams were just as good. And then there's the home brewed beer (or 'craft' beer) if you prefer, were astonishingly good too. Lovely location, friendly hosts, food, drink and...wifi. It has the lot.

My husband and I stayed here in late April and had a fantastic time. Maudie and Dean are wonderful hosts and our meals were outstanding! Their home is so peaceful and relaxing, the beds were wonderfully comfortable, the bathroom was small but has everything you need. We will definitely be back!

Maude and Dean were fabulous hosts, on a cold winters night to walk into a cosy home with a warm welcome was just what we need. Our room was so cosy, stylish and warm with electric blankets on to take the chill off. We started with a little drink and got to know our hosts. A choice of venison, chicken...

We spent two extremely comfortable nights with Maudie and Dean who were excellent hosts. We felt at home immediately and Maudie's breakfast and evening meals were scrumptious. All this, along with a scintillating dawn chorus, fantastic starlit nights and the sound of birds in the garden. What more could you ask for? Thank you Maudie and Dean for sharing your...

Fantastic place to stay. Maudie and Dean couldn't be more pleasant hosts. Make sure you take up the evening meal option to sample some great home cooked food and Dean's great home brew. Well appointed bedroom with a comfortable bed. Great lounge and dining area. Not only is it a great place to stay but also excellent value.

We stayed two nights here. The B&B is on a deer farm - but just off the highway. The Food, the company - excellent. It was a little tricky to find but well worth it. Our GPS did not pick up Shenandoah Highway, but the B& B is signposted and on the left hand side as you travel along route...
