I stayed one night here while doing a trek on Mburo lake park. The hotel was suitable, but I would not want to stayed multiple nights here for the reasons below. Cons :The room and bathroom are quite small and difficult to manage with 2 people inside at the same time. The food was excellent, but they were very cheap...

A lovely welcome from Steve when we arrived quite late for our stay. Showed us around and sorted out cutlery etc for the pizza we picked up en route. Lounge was large and spacious with comfortable seating that meant it was nice to sit and chat with other guests. Our room was huge, clean and very comfortable. Everything was spotless....

we stayed just one night at this B&B as we drove from Queenstown to Picton. We LOVED the place! Everything was so clean and ready to go as soon as we arrived. The location is so serene, which made for some great photos with my new camera. The hosts were so kind and accommodating, and the breakfast they prepared the...

Small gestures make all the difference and when your host tracks you down to a local pub to provide an umbrella because it's raining you know it's a very special place! A wonderful stay with very caring hosts; thank you.

Throughly recommend Murchison Lodge - great ambience and service. Comfortable bed and spacious room. Great breakfast. Nice cosy fire. Only minor criticism is that the shower could use a bit more pressure!

Off the beaten track in Murchison is the Murchison Lodge. It is really well appointed - we had the Riverside room, which was spacious with a wonderful view over the hills. Our room was spotlessly clean, and the bed was really comfortable. Our hosts were welcoming, friendly and helpful. We only stayed one night as we were in transit to...

We stopped off at the Murchison on the way to Picton and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the property, the quiet location in lovely surroundings and not least by the hospitality extended to us by Rosemary. We stayed in the excellent Koru room with an amazingly spacious bathroom. Unfortunately for us we had to leave by 6.00am to...

Quaint small town, great location set back from the main street. Wonderful hosts, good hot food. Lovely farm on the grounds complete with chickens, compost, cherry and pear trees. All the food served at breakfast came from their land!

Thank you LucyFred for your review. Yes, Murchison is quaint, however, it is now a busy hub for the main highway to Christchurch due to the Kaikoura earthquake. It has caught us slightly on the "back foot". However, we are all trying to meet the travellers needs. Stephen and I make every effort to use produce for breakfasts from the...
