People at reception are very friendly and helpful. We loved great spacious lounge room with comfy sofas and armchairs, where you can relax and watch the TV or use WiFi (paid). Kitchen is fully equipped with fridge and enough tools/dishes for all guests. Rooms and bathrooms were perfectly clean and shower was hot. Surrounded with beautiful views of the mountains,...

Nice and handy to CBD of Haast. 😊 Nice cooking and common room areas. Awesome showers, although they are coin operated for hot water, but host provided the first coins for free. WiFi is limited, and is extra cost. Hard Antler bar is close by, but food is very expensive there. Enjoyed our stay. Ensure you have insect repellant available...

Welcomed by the buzzer/ horn that goes every 30 minutes or so, you'll feel right at home here! That is, if your home was prison for the last couple of years! Or a freezer for that matter!! An iglo feels warm compared to the shared room/ kitchen! Showers are 50ct/ 7min (which are actually quite nice) and wifi costs 3...

Having read a few grim reviews we were pleasantly surprised at how good the motel was. Large room, excellent kitchen facilitiesand couldn't really find any significant fault. Would certainly recommend it, despite having to pay $5 for internet access. Beware of the sand flies - and there is no mobike phone reception!

Stayed on our way to Wanaka after doing Franz Josef in our campervan. Kids liked the cute rabbit in the car park. No playground but wonderful large warm lounge to spread out and relax in, perfect after being cramped in our van on a cold wet day. The kids appreciated the box of toys in the lounge. We didn't use...

We stayed on our way from Queenstown to the glaciers and had our first meeting with the dreaded sandflies....not the fault of the campsite...but please be prepared! The site is really a car park, but the communal kitchen and sitting area makes up for it. Big room, encourages conversation...good cooking facilities. Receptionist at the time from Wales where we come...

We stayed one night here in the motel area. Our room was configured to sleep upto 4, 2 single beds and 1 queen. It had heaps of hot water, good heating. Haast is very small so don't expect much. Its quite scenic and peaceful. There is no cellphone coverage here and don't expect any till you get to Fox Glacier....

We stayed in the lodge one night on our way from the Franz Josef glacier to Queenstown. There isn't much to the town...very small, but good for a nights stay. We knew we were going to be arriving late so we called ahead and they left the rooms ready for us. We appreciated that! The rooms were nice. It was...

We stayed for one night early March on a powered site enroute to Fox Glacier. Small and basic and clean has all the facilities. Not a lot to do in Haast but a good stop off if travelling up from Queenstown or Wanaka. Good value for money would recommend for a night or two but know more.

We stayed only one night en route to West Coast, New Zealand. We just made it through the Haast Pass as the Pass was closing at 6:30. When I phoned to book, the owner said he'd hold the room till 7:15 knowing that we'd either be through by then or not. He had a long queue of people waiting to...
