This was a real find. We had a terrific stay at Misty Peaks. Dave and Lea are wonderful hosts. They take pride in NZ produce which was reflected in the excellent wine and cheese that was complimentary in the evening and in the dinner that Dave cooked. Home cooking at it's best - simple and delicious! Breakfast wasn't bad either!...

Unfortunately we had awful weather while we were in Fox Glacier which may have clouded our opinion as we had no views at all of Mt Cook or Mt Tasman. We felt that Lea, our host, didn't make us feel welcome but was more interested in telling us that "we all meet for nibbles before dinner" and that "we also...

Well this review just goes to prove that you cant please all of the people all of the time. Perhaps KeithMs views were clouded by the cloudy weather but to suggest that offering a complimentary glass of wine with cheese, in the company of our other guests, is enforced socialising is a bit of a stretch. Dinner is optional but...

If you get the chance do include having supper. Dave's an amazing cook - the lamb was the best meal we had in New Zealand. Would strongly recommend.

True to its name, you can't stop yourself from staring at the misty peaks for a long time... the rooms are very well appointed. Dave works hard to make guests very comfortable.. we were very late checking in (2am) - Dave left the lights on for us. Would easily recommend this place - its worth every penny if you can...

In an excellent location, you drive up to the home and instantly realise there is something unique about this place. Walking in, David offered us a generous complimentary glass of wine each. You can drive up to your room and unload the baggage through your own back door to your room. Fantastic! You have your own little table outside your...
