The outside shots from the Shining were actually filmed in Oregon not here, but you can see exactly why Stephen King got his inspiration for writing the book. Dumb and Dumber had a scene in front of the hotel and in main staircase inside which is cool but looks a little different. Those 2 put together and of course it's...

This was an excellent hotel to visit and stay. Great rooms, great service, great food and a great view. A must to visit and stay. Amazing that a hotel built in 2009 is still performing beyond expectations.

This hotel is so rich in history it's fun just to stay there and think about all the people that have come through (and some didn't leave)! It's magical. I loved all the pictures they had of the hotel throughout the years in the rooms and hallways. If you can, stay here!!

If you are looking for ghosts, a great meal, or a magnificent location this is it. Weather was cold but the sun was out and the view amazing. Sat on the front porch and just looked at the landscape. We stayed in the original hotel so the rooms are not fancy and small - or I prefer quant. Whisky bar...

Stayed last night(02/12/2017) and also on St Patrick's Day last year. The weather did not cooperate on St. Patrick's day, but we enjoyed The Whiskey Bar and the restaurant on site. Last night was a beautiful evening and we also visited the Whiskey Bar and spent a relaxing evening touring the property. It is beautiful, elegant and timeless. The decor...

Just got back from my second stay at The Stanley hotel and must say the experience was much better than the first time. We stayed at The Lodge this time. It was beautifully decorated the room was very large and nice with very comfortable bed. The Lodge at the Stanley is dog friendly for a $50 per night fee. And...

We found ourselves booked into the Stanley because we were attending a family wedding nearby. We flew into Denver that morning, and made it to the hotel with about 45 minutes to change and catch a shuttle bus. We asked at the desk about the shuttle to the venuw, but the young women didn't know anything about it. That would...

This is a charming hotel that has incredible views of Rocky Mountain National Park. It is easy to see how King was inspired to write The Shinning after staying here. Be sure to grab a cocktail in the historic bar if you are in town visiting or passing by to/from RMNP. It is totally worth the stop!

We got a good deal and stayed two nights. The hotel has a "haunted feel". Very clean rooms. A bit disappointed that at check-in, the clerk didn't tell us where the restaurant, bar, tours were. Nothing. She was very nice but offered no info. The room was very hot, even with the window open and fan running. The door was...
