A big group of 70 equestrian women physicians met here at Tanque Verde in November of 2019 (couldn’t get the date to roll back that far) and had a TERRIFIC time! The entire staff was SO accommodating for this large group, scheduling extra rides, dinners for our gang, etc. The weather allowed for beautiful desert rides, lounging by the pool, and delicious meals. Some also took advantage of tennis, and National Park hiking was literally down the road. When we had to reschedule for a repeat visit, it was a smooth and easy process. Highly recommend this wonderful resort and staff!

Had a fantastic time at this ranch on a girls’ trip! We enjoyed the rides, the food, the hot tub and the pool. Oh, and the prickly pear margaritas! If you’re looking for beautiful scenery, plenty of horse time, and a relaxing atmosphere, this is it!

My family and I spent Thanksgiving week at Tanque Verde Ranch. This was our second visit to the property. Our first was in 2016. It was great to get back and the trip was everything we were hoping for. We are already looking forward to our next visit. Also, while we went as a family trip, the resort would be really good for anyone/any group wanting an active western getaway. Everything about the all-inclusive package at the ranch works well for us. The food is excellent and there is plenty of it. There is also a diverse menu to choose from at each meal. Like everywhere else on the ranch, we found the staff in the dining room to be friendly and very helpful. The activities at the ranch are great. All of us rode horses each day and got a ton of help/instruction from the wrangler staff. Each of the rides offers something fun and different. I love the Mountain Adventure Ride. The team penning is also very fun. We tried each horseback ride adventure offered, aside from loping, and loved all of them. We also signed up for several of the extra offering. The silversmithing class is excellent and you come home with some cool homemade jewelry. Also, I can't recommend the falconry class enough. We didn't use the pool much during our trip, but there was already people out there. It is a great spot to hang out in the afternoon and evenings. Not much negative to say. Housekeeping is not cleaning rooms every day due to the virus issues. They are happy to come drop off extra towels, but you don't get a clean room every day while you're out. That was the only drawback of this trip. Overall, I highly recommend the place and am looking forward to returning.

I just returned from a four day visit at the ranch and, overall, had a pleasant, peaceful stay. My initial impression when I arrived at the ranch, though, wasn't positive. I had obviously been apprehensive traveling at the moment, and when I arrived my concerns were validated. Staff at the front desk weren't enforcing the indoor mask order with another visitor and when I brought it up, they still didn't do anything. Not only did it make me uncomfortable, it made me wonder what other precautions weren't being taken (although I did appreciate the sanitized pens at the desk). I spoke to a manager the next day who said that they indeed took the virus seriously and she would follow-up. Throughout my stay, I did see staff wearing masks indoors although later in my visit I experienced another episode of a staff member not enforcing the order with a visitor. I brought the issue up again, of course, but it shouldn't fall on guest to do so. During my four days, I did my best to social distance as well. With the size of the grounds, and not as many visitors as normal, it was generally doable. But, let me get to the positives. The ranch itself is beautiful -- immaculate grounds with good-size, very clean rooms. Once you arrive for your stay, the housekeeping staff will not enter (unless you need something) for both their safety and visitors. Good. The food was wonderful, dining room staff kind, and I have to express sincere gratitude for being gluten-friendly. And, for not being "up-charged" when most places do so. It would be nice, though, if there was food available throughout the day, not just at the allotted breakfast/lunch/dinner times. People have different schedules, so that would be helpful. I chose the simple hotel rate, which meant I paid for activities and food (sans breakfast which was indeed included in the rate) which was fine. If you're going to be doing more activities, I would recommend the all-inclusive rate. I also was picked up at the airport and dropped off by Jeff from the ranch, who was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and beyond. If you book the all-inclusive rate and stay four nights, the airport pick-up and drop-off is free. For me, it was $55 each way. I also did a half-day trip to Tombstone with Jeff (who sanitized the van before we went and wore a mask) which was $150. Many stories and helpful information which made the trip memorable. I would just like Cochise County to require face masks indoors because lots of shopkeepers and people went without. Not everyone, but many. I went hiking and horseback riding, both of which were wonderful. My guide on the hike, Jim, provided wonderful insight into the adjacent park and more. So grateful. Again, overall I had peaceful stay. I especially loved either riding or petting the horses who were beautiful. It would be helpful, though, to see greater vigilance of mask-wearing at the ranch. It's already a leap for someone to come visit now, so it's a simple way to make visitors more comfortable -- and safe.
