The Hotel Congress, built in 1919, is the cultural landmark that anchors Downtown Tucson. We pride ourselves on the many unique features we offer that youʼd be hard pressed to find anywhere else. Some cynical city slickers might notice the absence of televisions in our 40 rooms and feel slighted. But itʼs intentional. We strive to maintain the hotelʼs original ambiance from the iron bed to the vintage radio, the rumble of the nearby train to the 1930’s-style phone that connects to a real switchboard at the front desk. And, unlike most historic hotels, all rooms have private bathrooms and air-conditioning. We are an urban, historic, rock ‘n’ roll hotel. Your room may be affected by plaza, nightclub, or street noise. If you would like to stay in one of our quieter rooms, please make arrangements at the time of your reservation. We do not give discounts or refunds due to noise. Earplugs are available at the front desk. Or, better yet, just join in the fun!

We checked in on December 30 and checked out January 2. Three nights with a NYE party in the middle. Yes we have stayed here before, in fact it was two years prior on December 30 but could not stay NYE because it was fully booked. This time I booked a room 2 months in advance.

Thank you for your review. I am glad you started the year with us. Your feedback is very valuable and we will use this when planning other large events. I do want to inform you we offer complimentary coffee to our hotel guests from 5am-7am. After that there is coffee available for purchase at our restaurant Cup Cafe. Unfortunately, the weather was not on our side for new years eve but I do hope you visit our other large events and stay the night with us once again.

Stopped in for a beer at the Tiger's Bar, before heading to dinner in the downtown area. The bartender, Christina, was friendly and waited on us right away....but didn't interact at all unless you were a regular. The history of the building is very interesting.

Heed the warnings on the webpage when making your reservations. I reserved an inside room with a window to nowhere. The window was frosted and had cute cowboy drapes. The hotel is loud. I was there on a Friday night and the party was going full force. The room was small.

I've struggled with how most fairly to capture our recent stay, and decided ultimately that if you're billing yourself as a Hotel, then how you perform as a place to sleep should really matter. Many of the most positive reviews are only attesting to the quality of breakfast

Thank you very much for your review. You are 100% right this is not the hotel to come and get a good nights sleep. We are a historic rock n roll hotel with a lot to offer and we try to be as transparent as possible in informing our guests of how noisy our rooms are. We recommend our guest request a room as far away from the night club as possible and/or our interior cactus garden rooms which are less noisy. Due to our 6 bars, night club and restaurant on property it is safe to say our guests will hear loud noise in our rooms until 2am every night. I hope you visit us again and stay in our less noisier rooms for a better stay.

Not many places you can go to nowadays with the historical significance of old school gangsters like Dillinger but you can here at Hotel Congress. I always have thanksgiving here, the outdoor patio is awesome and so is the mild Tucson weather. The turkey was awesome and so were

how is the restaurant's food?
The food is amazing. Breakfast or dinner you cannot go wrong. My favorite restaurant downtown.

Are your rooms air-conditioned, and do you have free parking available?
Our room was nice and cool, no a/c was needed but that was in May, not July or August. Plenty of parking available in nearby garage, a bit of a walk, but not uncomfortable. Creative juggling I would recommend!

Are your rooms air-conditioned, and do you have free parking available?
Yes, there is AC in the rooms. As for parking, there's an underground lot across the street. You get a ticket at the gate, take it back to the front desk and they'll validate it. There's also very limited street parking, metered on weekdays till either 5 or 6, but I'd definitely go for the lot. 😊

Is there a fitness room?
It's an historic building, with no fitness room. You'll find delicious food and drink there, but not much else.
