At the last minute we decided to have our company Christmas Party at Bishop’s Lodge and with one call they handled everything and exceeded our expectations on the quality of the food and service. When we arrived they had staff ready to assist with all our needs to top off the evening Chef Chris came out several times to introduce...

There is nothing we would change at the Lodge. The room, the restaurant, the lounge.......above all, the staff and incredible service. This was our second visit and we are planning many more.

Our time at Bishop's Lodge Ranch & Spa was spectacular. Our Thanksgiving buffet with party of 9 enjoyed the delicious and abundant food and ambiance. The boys enjoyed their first time trap and skeet shooting with Dave who was knowledgeable and patient. (being sub-freezing weather and all). Our stay at Cottonwood lodge suite was fantastic, it was roomy enough for...

The resort is nestled in the foothils of the Snagre de Crisot mountains just a few minutes drive nroth of the downtown Santa Fe plaza j1/4 mile off Bishop's Lodge Road on the way to Tesuque. The historic buidlings sit among majestic trees in a serene alcove like setting. The air is fresh and clean, the pool and spa is...

I recently stayed at Bishop's Lodge Resort and Spa in order to attend a company holiday party. Despite living in Santa Fe already, I will be sure to take another "mini-vacation" at Bishop's Lodge again! There are so many activities and amenities! Heated pool and hot tub, Pilates, Yoga, historical interest, horseback riding, hiking trails, croquet and SO MUCH MORE!...

Slightly removed from the center of town, Bishops Lodge has a tranquil setting, yet offers activities and amenities the in-town hotels cannot. The pool/spa area is wonderful and if you go in the summer, the staff is extremely attentive! The food is great! One of the best aspects of BL is their customer service. I would rate them top in...

I live in Santa Fe and visit Bishop's Lodge regularly to take advantage of their outstanding hospitality, warm atmosphere and extraordinary personal service. This place has an incredible history and keeps its sense of authenticity. The setting is beautiful and secluded while still very accessible to downtown Santa Fe. Love the inviting outdoor pool, the sunset views, the hiking trails,...

It was Thanksgiving and my wife and I didn't have plans. We decided to get out of our empty house for a short getaway. It was a good choice. We stayed in Little Tesuque, a junior suite with a fireplace, a comfortable seating area and an extremely comfortable bed. Nothing like a comfortable bed, a glass of wine and a...

We started a new Thanksgiving tradition at Bishop's Lodge this year. We didn't want to cook and we didn't want to travel far- it's a 1/2 hour from home. We booked the holiday buffet dinner. The we decided to spend Wednesday night to really make a getaway out of it. Our west-facing Little Tesuque room was had unimpeded views. The...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In August of 1851, a Frenchman, Jean Baptiste Lamy, arrived in the NM Territory as the first Bishop of Santa Fe. Here he built a private retreat; his chapel still stands today, now on the national register of historic places. After Lamy's Death, the land was acquired by the Pulitzer publishing family as a private vacation retreat. In 1917, the Thorpe family from Denver fell in love with these pristine acres, bought the property and developed the first resort in the state. Today Bishop's Lodge comprises 15 lodges for a total of 110 rooms ranging in sizes from 250 sq feet to 450, not to mention a 2000 sq foot Presidential Suite. Many of our rooms feature fireplaces and the majority all have outdoor access to patios, lawns or balconies. Our ShaNah Spa and Wellness Center which opened up in June of 2002 is a sanctuary where one can take time out to be nurtured by Mother Nature, guided by ancient wisdon and touched by angels. The experience may change your life. Other activities are abundant such as: trap/skeet shooting (offered to groups of 10 or monmre roomnights), horseback, pony trail rides, hiking, mountain biking, fitness center, excercise studio, outdoor pool, whirlpool and tennis to mention a few. Bishop's Lodge is located just 3 miles from the Historic Santa Fe Plaza. Complimentary shuttle service is provided by the lodge at scheduled times daily. ... more   less
