We are a family-owned and family-run hidden gem tucked away on a quiet side street in the heart of Waikiki, next to the popular running path along the Ala Wai Canal, with views of the gorgeous Koolau Mountains and the Waikiki skyline. Your private paradise is close to all of Waikiki’s major attractions, including the gentle surfing waves of Waikiki Beach, Kapiolani Park, the Honolulu Zoo, Diamond Head State Monument, the Ala Wai Golf Course, and the Waikiki Aquarium. You’ll be just steps from Waikiki’s unparalleled shopping, dining, surfing, historical landmarks, gardens and parks. Our property consists of two buildings – our main tower and a 2-story building that holds 10 beautiful studio suites with kitchenettes. The two buildings share a sun-filled, easy-going pool area with a 70-foot swimming pool and outdoor Jacuzzi.

This aging hotel needs a lot of work. The carpets are worn and dirty looking. There were unfinished repairs on each room door. The rooms are really tiny, the air conditioner in the room is incredibly noisy, and the wi-fi was very poor and half the time it didn't work at all.

Our 5th trip to Hawaii. Used to stay in hotels on the beach however those hotels can be quite expensive, especially with the A$ issue now. We had visited the Sand Villa Hotel for a couple of meals and drinks on previous trips so thought we would stay there this time. Although no

We stayed here on our way back home to New Zealand on our way back from New York. In comparison to what we stayed in on the 'mainland', this was nice. It was spacious enough for the two of us, it has a balcony big enough for my partner to lay out on and enjoy the scenery. It was

We are looking at the room that fits 3 beds in it.. how small is it?
Yes future traveler to the Island of Oahu. As it relates to beds, their sizes that fit into the Sand Villa's rooms. My suggestion is, my may want to contact the hotel directly, and ask them to connect you with their housekeeping department head of staff. The Waikiki Sand Villa Hotel: call, 808.922.4744., , Resrevations: 808.921.3203. Personal experience with the number of beds that can or that will fit into their rooms. I'm familiar with their standard rooms beds numbers. All rooms will be either equipped with the following: 2 standard size floor size, twin beds or 2 standard size beds less than a queen size bed in size. Now that may have a third choice format for the number and size of beds in a room. 1 large, 1 small. Or, they may have changed it , everything. My last 7 day stay there was in September 2018. Most hotels in Honolulu, Hawaii, in place in the world. Usually use this format for a third Bed in the room, sometimes many hotels refer to the extra added bed to a room as, the child's bed. And, there' fold away beds, standard fold up bed or the cot, fold up bed. Many of these additional beds in many Oahu hotels, are already inside your rented stay hotel, room. Either visible to the public eye or placed in or near a space free area, inside you room. Again. And, this is me speaking to you from my personal experience as an international traveler. This hotel is rated as, a 3 star hotel. All hotels worldwide get a rating based on many valuables. In closing, let me say this. If you and or any number of people who may wish to sleep in the same room there or at ANY hotel, there or in the USA. Know this. Hotel ratings start at 1 star and they go upwards to a 5 star rating. Resorts are rated this same way, too. The lower the hotel star rated number. Those hotel chains cater to people who think believe and act like the hotel chains they stay and vacation at. Not everybody does this, but the majority of people anywhere in the word, today since the beginning of time as we humans know it. Are who, we see in the hotels, at anytime. Select wisely always by researching the hotel chains history or by visiting them in person. I prefer the in,person visit, ask for the hotel operations officer or hotel manager, on siite the day you go in to ask them about their hotel, and about, WHY you would enjoy staying there. Ask are there any perks, discounts, freebies. All are almost always given away as complimentary gifts for anyone in the know or for the lesser aware traveler , visitor. Just be brave enough to ask, do as I have said you should, you will be amazed, delighted with the outcome. Ending statement. All 1, 2, 3, star hotels. Compared to all, 4 and 5 star hotels are... ? What's the difference? Like living in a suite, eating in the best Resturant's, better beds, maid service, etc., etc. ok. This is, HOW aware, more familiar, better we'll traveled people select their hotels. I am #66, I started traveling at age #21. And I still travel as many as 3 - 6 times a year. I have for well over the past 30 years. Note: in 2016, the Sandvilla was doing a large number of property upgrades. Before I departed the Sand Villa, I spoke with many of the hotel staff members, people, I have met, known personally for years. They were still under some new upgrades, remodeling changes, etc. I slept in a very beautiful, upgraded, new hotel room. The newer rooms are located near the pool, hot tub , fitness center, area. Note. No elevators were installed for this property rooms area, in my past September 2018 7 day stay there. 2 levels of newer hotel property rooms. 2 flights of stairs from ground level 3. It's odd, I know. When you walk up from the first ground walking level. You somehow according to the hotel people there. Will actually be roomstaying on floor 3. I heard them , I didn't get it. It's a great work out for anyone who enjoys dragging 1 or more large to extra large suitcases up those stairs there. Trust me, I didn't! Check an see what's new there, now. Since September 13, 2018. I do wish you all well. The 4 and the 5 star hotel properties, the islands resort properties, ARE the best dollar value for anybody who isn't watching their money, who had the dollars to spend when traveling there orvanyplace in the world. Hotel stays? You really do, get WHAT, you pay for when it comes to making hotel stay choices. I have memberships at the Hilton, Hawaiian, The Waikiki Sheraton, all the Bext Western poeperties, The Trump Hotels property, Waikiki. Better service, more educated aware class or group of people are and do, almost always stay in or at 4 and 5 stat property hotels and resorts. Got it.

I don't live there. I use to for 25 years I live in beautiful , exciting Las Vegas, NV. I believe that everybody has a dream and everyone has a need to exist. I have been to Canada, too. I don't pay any attention to comments posted by others. Everyone has an opinion on or about most things in life. Mine are from my personal experience and having traveled to more places more times, more often than most people born alive from 1 second to 100 years. I'm very happy with it. Finally. My favorite ide reminder; "Isn't Life Wonderful!"

Does this hotel have a gym??
Yes it does. Located by the pool area the gym is open from 7 am. It’s basic set up but enables you to still do a range of exercises to avoid putting on the extra kilos. There’s a multi station machine for lat pull downs, bicep curls and calf raises as well as incline bench press and shoulder press. Then a leg curls station. Add to that a tread mill and pull ups area as well as a large mat area to do yoga, Pilates or general stretching. It’s not a bad little set up. Hope this helps.
