I stayed at this hotel in September 2017 and really liked it. Unfortunately this recent stay wasn’t as great. The first room I was assigned to was on a floor of high school travelers. They were constantly shutting doors and conversing in the hall. The hotel staff was wonderful and moved me to another room. Unfortunately this room has a strong musty odor. They tried changing the air filter and using an excessive amount of air fresheners to no avail. I woke up with a headache both mornings and was looking forward to check out. The staff was friendly and helpful but apparently didn’t have many options on empty rooms. As a diamond member I thought they would have been able to set me up in a great room on the first try. Two Rooms later and I left disappointed.
Good location - close to both Waikiki and the ala Moana center. Biki bike share just across the street. Room was laid out well. Mattress was a bit too soft, likely had worn springs. The shower was also very leaky. Tasty cookies though!
Went there for a single night stay by myself and got to say I quite like this place. Staffs are helpful and accommodating (I checked out around 11am but they were kind enough to take care of my luggage until 4pm). The room is very clean + spacious and comfortable bed (the pillow is not very good though - too fluffy and I ended up using all 4 for proper support). All the basic amenities were up to standard and am very pleased with their usb charger (no need adapter) and dvd rental (the room has a ps3). All in all decent value for money and will return again for a longer stay next time. Recommended
We would have liked to stay where the American Contract Bridge League was holding their nationals but this hotel was only a couple of blocks away at a lesser price. We enjoyed our accommodations as a Hilton honors diamond member and all the perks that came with it

Aloha Bschoenfeld, Thank you for staying at the DoubleTree by Hilton Alana Waikiki Beach and sharing your 5 star experience. We hope you ahve a chance to return in the future. Thank you also for being a loyal Diamond Member. Happy Holidays, Clinton Yamashita
I am a Hilton Diamond and travel often. The hotel was clean and had all the standard amenities of a Doubletree hotel. The building and rooms are showing their age. The staff (front desk, restaurant, and valet) was not as friendly as I have grown accustomed to at Hilton brand hotels. However, they did help me with a package that arrived after I checked out and allowed for a late checkout on the day we left for the cruise. Overall, it was an ok stay.
