Saw Yellowstone the 1st of 2 times. We have seen many of our National Parks in our family covering America during our 50-State Quest. Done this in May that year of ((1981 not 2016)). This was the second time we finally had a 2 week vacation the first was 1976. We found out that 2 weeks or a little more...

The hotel has a lot of character and the free tours around it are a plus. The main attraction though is of course it's location to the geysers. Not only is it close to Old Faithful Geyser, but all of those in the Upper Geyser Basin. Our room overlooked Geyser Hill and just as we got to our room, Beehive...

The Old Faithful Inn is located about 1/4 mile from the famous geyser. The Inn is rustic looking although it is not very old. Those are kind of the highlights. The price of the hotel was pretty pricey even though we were there in May before the busy season and before all of the roads in the park were open....

We seriously lucked out with last minute booking at this property. We didn't quite realize what a boon until we arrived and saw that you can quite literally watch Old Faithful make its appearance from the convenient deck of the hotel. Don't expect modern conveniences and updated rooms like a newer Hampton Inn. This is a unique property that is...

Viewing Old Faithful is a favorite of first time visitors, we enjoyed the actual experience but be prepared for large crowds! There are metal benches for viewing but would recommend arriving early enough to get a good seat without having to stand. Tour buses drop off right at the Inn making large groups of people to navigate. Recommend getting there...

We had lunch and look while we waited for Old Faithful to reload. Our awesome Yellowstone Safari Company guides filled our minds with stories and adventures wrapped up at the Inn. Great experience for all ages!

We dined in the dining room. Food and service were very good. Prices were reasonable for a resort area. This was a sit down and be waited on place, which we prefer. Afterward go upstairs on the deck and wait for old faithful to blow. Enjoy a beer or wine and watch the sunset.

A nice place to stop by, but nothing unique. The restaraunt had good service and OK food. The gift shops were a bit lacking. The tourist impact was a bit overwhelming, meaning many out of country folks walking around in awe, which indicated they have not visited man other nice places. That is OK, but..... Sadly, this lodge doesn't measure...

The Building is historic and impressive. Even though an earthquake provided excuses to place upper tier skywalks off limits to the public, the building is something to see. The rooms, however, are tiny; many don't have baths; the one we stayed in only had a shower; crowds make access to the property problematic; the tour bus crowd overwhelms the structure...

We stayed here two nights due to the historic significance of the Inn. Frankly, one night would have been sufficient. Yes it is impressive, yes it is old, yes there is a great view of Old Faithful from the balcony (nice to sit and watch with an adult beverage), yes, it is a very short walk to the bench to...
