Casa Menezes – The Heritage Home stay of Goa, a home away from home, an experience like no other, nestled in the rustic lush greens of the Batim village, just 13 kms away from Panjim. Thankfully it is one of those villages in Goa that is still stuck in time, and we don’t intend to change that characteristic feature of this tranquil haven. Come experience true Goan Heritage. Perched in the valley of the Pilar and Santa Ana hillocks. The house is situated in ‘Gaunkarwaddo’ of the larger village of Batim. It overlooks paddy fields bordered with tall coconut palm trees. A scene around the whole village, take a walk around and you will soon discover the ‘Our Lady of Guardalupe’ church, the Parish church of the Batim village, A few steps ahead would take you to the Batim Lake, a bird watchers paradise, this lake attracts a lot of migratory birds. Wander around and amaze yourself with the simple pleasures life has to offer. While staying with us, we assure to make you feel relaxed and rejuvenated in this 300 year old ancestral home of ‘de Menezes’ family, replete with teak, oak and rosewood carved antique furniture, original art and virtuoso regal interiors combined with all the modern amenities needed to make this one of your most cherished holiday experiences ever! Guests can cycle around the village, go bird watching at the Batim lake, try their hands at salt harvesting at the local salt pans, walk up to the famous miraculous St.Simon and Jude church in Maina to appease their spiritual yearnings. Drive to the Santa Ana church believed to be one of the Oldest churches in Asia or to Siridao beach to bask on the sand and soak yourself in the waves of the Arabian sea. Highly recommended Casa Menezes
The 500 year old property is extremely well preserved by David and family. Everything about the house is beautiful. Rich in history.. fabulous antiques..
The rooms are beautiful, clean, stocked with everything we needed. The rooms have high ceilings and large shell and wooden windows blocking out both sound and light, we woke up at 830 thinking it was 430am! Great place to sleep deep and well..which is an ultimate luxury

It's a pet friendly place and people with pets are generally happier so we met some very nice other travellers

They serve authentic Goan food, which was a pleasure. The staff very polite.

Both David and Nicole are very chilled out and helpful at the same time..we loved everything about the place and see ourselves coming back again and again

Casa Menezes is a beautiful 350 year heritage property that has been converted to a home stay. My family and I had a great time over 3 days.
David, Nicole and David's mother were such amazing hosts who made us feel at home. We ended up chatting about all topics under the sun and really connected with them.
The room had a modern feel to it while at the same time a lot of effort has been put in to maintain the heritage look and feel. A perfect blend..

David spent time talking through the history of Goa and also prepared an itinerary catered to what we wanted to see. He also took us for a ride in his 60s Mini Cooper, which was the icing on the cake.

Right opposite the property they also have a small restaurant which served the most delicious local cuisine.

I highly recommend this place for families, couples and solo travellers alike.

All in all, we couldn't have asked for more - Perfect accommodation, awesome location, warm and friendly hosts.
Thanks David & Nicole.

My husband, daughter and I had a work-cation last week here. We had a lovely week’s stay in this warm and friendly place . The room is nice and cool with a great canopy view. Breakfasts are varied and lavish ; the housekeeping is unobtrusive and the owners a mine of information about all things Goa - we went on a great heritage walk that David recommended. Batim lake and Batim hill are great for bird watchers. Our warm and wonderful hosts repeatedly went beyond the call to ensure a wonderful stay. Thanks to Mrs Menezes , David and Nicole and little Lucas for a great week away ! We will be back!

I had a great time at Casa Menezes! David and his family were exceptional hosts who went out of their way to make sure I was super comfortable during my 2-night stay in their beautiful villa. David personally prepared/oversaw tasty local cuisine and made for a great conversationalist, which was very nice and memorable. He made sure that getting cabs to/from Goa Velha were never an issue, as he maintains good relationships with trusted cab operators and other locals (including the poee baker!) in the area. The room I stayed in was well appointed and the interiors were tasteful and contemporary, despite the villa being several centuries old. Casa Menezes is a blissful experience for those visiting Goa for its old colonial charm and amazing hospitality.

Casa Menezes is a truly remarkable place to call home when visiting Goa. Not only is the traditional house filled with history and all the comforts that you need, its superb location also makes it an ideal starting point for exploring both northern and southern Goa. The best thing about Casa Menezes however are the owners, Nicole and David, as well as their friendly and professional staff. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable and homely. When at Casa Menezes, I strongly recommend to have lunch and/or dinner there. The food is truly outstanding, combining elements of Goan, Indian and Portuguese cuisine!

Casa Menezes is located in a beautiful and quiet area, strategically located between the southern and northern parts of Goa. The hosts Nicole and David are very warm and hospitable, making you feel at home the instant you set foot in Casa Menezes, a heritage house with unique and features. The rooms are well equipped and clean, with comfortable beds. But the highlight at Casa Menezes must be the excellent food, you won't be disappointed! Overall, staying here has been one of my highlights of my trip to southern and central India.

Cannot speak highly enough of Casa Menezes as a place to stay in Goa. David and Nicole make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive, and no matter how long your journey it is like you have returned ‘home’. The homestay is well located in Goa with easy access to both the North and South, the rooms are extremely comfortable and authentic to traditional Goan decor, the breakfast quite frankly the best Goan food we ate throughout our whole trip, and David’s knowledge of Goa with arrangement for taxis makes for a fantastic stay. Oh and did I mention the pool to allow you to mellow if you wanted to stay in?!

I stayed as a Goan-Australian and was with my Australian fiancé, her parents and my Goan mother. No matter our nationality, we all had a fantastic stay and look forward to returning!

The boutique hotel is a beautiful heritage property with modern amenities . The location is in a quaint village - Velha Goa. The pool is across the villa, attached to their bar.
The highlight of the place is its awesome authentic Goan cuisine!
The rooms are well appointed with 4 poster beds, writing desk, coffee set, air conditioning and a small foyer. The rooms have a verandah outside, where they serve the meals. The staff is very polite and helpful. Breakfast is delicious Goan fare.
We stayed here with our kid and our dog. Both of them unrestricted access to every corner of the property, quite literally!
The owners Nicole and David are lovely hosts. They helped us with family friendly itineraries and pet friendly restaurants. David helped plan the dinner menus after consulting us and we had the best food at Casa Menezes!
Overall , its a very comfortable place to stay and relax .

Incredibly welcoming and home-like atmosphere right from when we were greeted by the owner himself. Nostalgic yet royal wooden furniture inspired by the location, yet a fully modern washroom add to the ambiance. The breakfast had a home-cooked feel with both traditional Indian and more continental options as per your preference. The owner was kind enough to plan out our trip during breakfast. Overall, a scenic and homely retreat that's perfect for those looking for a break from a standard hotel to experience something more akin to the region, all without sacrificing any of the creature comforts we're used to.

We stayed at Casa Manenzes at the beginning and at the end of our time in Goa. The location is pretty convenient to the airport, Panjim, the Aguada and Reis Magos forts, and old Goa, but it is in a quiet and picturesque village away from the hustle and bustle. It is also close to several good birding spots, which was part of why we chose it.
The house is very old, and has a real sense of history, but the rooms have been renovated to be quite comfortable. The on site restaurant is excellent. They use fresh local ingredients and everything we ate there was very tasty. The included breakfast buffet has both continental and Indian options. For lunch and dinner, be sure to let them know ahead of time if you plan to eat there, so they have time to prepare.
David, the owner and proprietor, was very helpful in coordinating transportation, setting us up with a scooter rental, and providing tons of info on all the things to do and see in the area. We would have liked to have talked to him more, and learned about the history of the house and the area in general.

This probably isn't the accommodation for you. Check out other Hostel accommodations. You will find plenty of options around Goa. Casa Menezes Heritage Homestay is a niche heritage property and won't be able to offer a stay at that price.

The closest beaches is about 4 Kms. away, called the Bambolim beach ( where the Grand Hayatt is situated) and Siridao beach from where you get a clear view of the Arabian sea and the mouth of the river Zuari. Goa has many beaches and that are a short ride or drive away. We at Casa Menezes help our guests with their sightseeing iterenary. We will point you towards some of the best spots around Goa.

Hello Mugdha, Thank you for your query! Yes we do have meals for pure vegetarians, and a nice blend of local flavours and authentic Goan- Indo Portuguese masalas that we use in our day to day meals. Since the standard options are limited and we are left with limited items to choose from, we have take orders to give our veg guests the option of tasting the traditional Goan masala's with vegetarian options instead of using the standard sea foods or non veg. items. We even have dedicated pans for the job. You can choose from Paneer, Mushrooms, Potato, Okra, sweet potato and other local produce like 'Tambdi Baji' 'Sheppi' etc which are fram fresh (depends on the season) with these authentic flavors to get your fill of the true Goan Experience! Even the breakfast has great vegetarian options that are traditionally Goan and tasty. Goan cuisine is bliss for a non vegetarian, but we know how to make it equally memorable for our Vegetarian guests. It will be even better if we have a good enough head start and can receive orders in advance, as we can shop something special for you at the local market. looking forward to cooking for you at 304! Regards, -David N Menezes Casa Menezes
