Pelican Lodge is beautiful, the view is spectacular, and the cabins are clean, spacious and beautifully designed. HOWEVER, The food is terrible or nonexistent, which can be a problem because basically you’re stranded there. The first night we waited for dinner for an hour and a half and then gave up and ate the frozen fish fingers that were on the buffet. The second night we arrived at dinner time and no one was there, nothing was cooked, and when we finally found a cook we were offered food with a 45 minute wait. this was a midweek visit and it’s possible we were the only people at the place. I am hoping they do a better job with the food on weekends! The other thing to be aware of is that The next door camp has a huge Soundsystem and blasts music — sometimes beginning at 8 AM and ending after 10. Since we came to see and hear the birds, and retreat in a quiet place, this too was quite challenging.

Stayed one night on an organised tour, the room itself was clean and spacious, Aircon just appears to blow air not cool it, outdoor shower what I liked and it was clean. Wifi is only at reception and the complex is nice, we were on a game drive in the nature reserve close by so collected upon arrival and did not get to see the hotel complex or its amenites.

I am ashamed that we stayed here and embarrassed that we blessed the owner with our hard earned money. PLEASE DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE THAT WE DID. We were a group of 7 with 2 kids we had booked 5 cottages. We reached the lodge to check in and they took us to one of the cottages just to confirm what we booked. Came back to the reception to pick the keys and here was the shock when the manager came to inform us that they only have 3 cottages out of the 5 we booked because there was some confusion,so the 2 cottages he will replace with 2 rooms because they can not refund the money we already paid. The room was filthy! no safe box or water or even a fridge After all this hustle we decided to order some food and i wish we hadn't! food came after 1.5 hours not tasty at all and all mixed up. One of the staff was so daring to the extend of going to one of our cottages and steal a packet of cigarettes.

This is the place that he proposed to me ...........When we checked in we were warmly welcomed by the lovely ladies at the reception, well organized and very helpful. The cottages architecture is one of a kind, locally made there. After our evening meals as we sat at the Bonfire place roasting some marshmallow .That's when he proposed to me and i said yes. This couldn't have taken place without the help of the lovely staff. Thanks Pelican ,am definitely coming back...........

The Pelican Lodge was easy to find and the place was serene and quite. The view of the lake Elementaita was awesome. Staff are quite polite, friendly and kind. The African deco of the rooms, dining and lounge is superb. The cottages are marvelous and quite. Big beds and quite spacious. The food was awesome and glad we got to taste your new menu item. Kindly check on the slippery bathroom floor and can also look at providing a TV on request. Check on redecorating the reception.
