Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The place is so beautiful. The staff was so helpful and welcoming. They have a variety of accommodations for all people at a relatively low budget.

The food was on point 👌🏾, and the breakfast too was so nice. The rooms are really great 👍🏾 and you can ask for a fire 🔥 when cold.

Each room has an electric kettle with all the tea necessities giving you a chance to take tea whenever you feel like. Everything about this place is so beautiful.

A beautifully done property. A great stop off for us as we did Ol Pajeta and then headed off to Samburu. Strategically located off the main road, the accomodation was expansive and the temperature cool. Loads of facilities for kids, a playground and a pool. Breakfast was very generous and they accomodated vegetarian and coeliac needs for the group. Some of the party wanted to cook and they brought in a stove and gas. Our room had a small fridge and tea making facilities which were very welcomed. We had 2 double beds with fantastic linens and comfortable pillows. Locally owned and managed. I rate this property very highly as I think it represents great value for money. Will definitely visit again

We were pushed into 'Anka' as part of our Mount Kenya safari, and while the ground are pleasant (usable pool, green everywhere, active gardens lining the grounds), it definitely needs some changes.
When we first entered our room it felt gloomy and there were multiple dead insects around. Each "room" is set up like it's own little cottage, but lacking the necessities to be self-sustainable (fridge, cooking materials). If they had been overrun with customers, I would understand; we were literally the only guests for our three days. Also, it's address is listed as "Nanyuki Town" but you are a good 20-minute drive (or unsafe hour-plus walk) from the Equator marker just inside town.)
Service is attentive, and it is a very pleasant family that runs 'Anka'. Breakfasts were almost absurdly large, but not necessarily what we ordered! When our travel plans changed and we were forced back to Nairobi a day early, they did (begrudgingly) refund part of our last night.
Overall, you could do worse in Nanyuki, but 'Anka' could be much better than it is. I'd recommend looking elsewhere, somewhere in town.

Loved the enviroment.rooms are clean and spacious too.swimming pool is all that you need for relaxation.its location is also convinient since you can easily access it from either samburu or olpajeta.
Hoping they have improved on their services most of the waiters were so unfriendly.

Anka Resort has great little houses designed for self catering, but they're not fully committed to it and did not have cookers, fridges etc. set up when we arrived. It took hours before they found a regulator that worked for the gas!
I think they're confused about whether they're a hotel or self catering facility and still new, so I guess they're still figuring it out!

We appologise for the mixup. There was a bit of confusion in this booking since it had been booked as a normal hotel room booking while the client demanded a cottage facility on arrival. The hotel team accomodated the change though this took abit of time to rearrange due to a technical issue with the gas regulators. We regret this mixup. We have adviced our front office staff to get a reconfirmation from all clients on the nature of their booking at the point of booking before finalising a sale.

This place is simply JUST AMAZING ..... Nanyuki just got a 4 star resort. The have almost all amenities ( except the swimming pool which is under construction ) , bicycles if you want to keep fit , a beautiful garden ( good for walks ) , an awesome lounge which plays good chill out music etc .... The rates are absolutely affordable and totally WORTH IT. If you choose to board you have the option to cook for yourself or order from the hotel. They have a fridge and cooker inside the room. You also get a balcony, parking outside your room, a small garden ( and they allow you to host your own BBQ ) and many many more options. I can go on and on about this place but I think you should see it for yourself .... We are definitely coming back ... Thank You Anka
