Interesting and fascinating at the same time. It took me out of my comfort zone and it was terrific. Bungalows built into the mountain side open air to the Savanna. Views of watering holes for the animals. A lovely lodge for gathering. A warm and wonderful pool. Staff that was attentive and kind. The guides shared their village and culture...

This lodge offers the most incredible experience with open-air rooms over looking the hillside and watering hole. You stay in luxury but in a very eco friendly environment. The lodge is run by the Maasai community who value your support and stay in their beautiful facility. The food and service are great. The bush breakfast along the river, the visit...

I just returned from Kenya. My fourth trip. Each time we go to Il Ngwesi for a couple of days. A truely wonderful experience each time. The lodge is run by local Massai and you feel that this is the real Africa! The rooms are clean, open to the air with great views of the watering hole. The meals are good...

This untouched paradise is a place where you would want some quiet time to bond with nature. If you are an eco tourist then this is the place to be. The architecture is superb.Get a mini boardwalk to your room or soak in the cool waters of the pool as you watch elephants drink water at theater hole. Have an...

This Lodge, run by the local Maasai is, for me, heaven on earth. It's so well hidden that you really can't see it from the base of its little hill. The chalets are built from natural local dead wood and red mud and each has its own shower In some, you can have your four poster bed complete with mosquito...

Well what can I say about this place? After travelling on bumpy dirt roads for many hours we arrived to be greeted by the entire contingent of staff and introduced to each and every one of them. All staff are from local Maasai villages and are the warmest and welcoming of people. I had become ill from some unknown source...

We were greeted on arrival with other staff singing a welcome song to us. The rooms were built into the side of a hill. Ours overlooked the water hole where elephants, zebra, baboons, pumbas (warthogs) and the like visited throughout the day. Note: it was the same room Prince William and Princess Kate stayed in. We visited a Maasai village...

Have just returned from a 4 day stay at Il Ngwesi Lodge. It was nowhere near long enough! It is a bit of a drive to get there along some ordinary roads but that is part of the beauty. It is isolated and remote which is one of its draw-cards. The rooms are incredible!!! Very roomy, an outside shower and...

After camping several nights we climbed the path to this most stunning lodge, the views with wildlife drinking at a waterhole and grazing a short distance away, absolutely breath taking. The local Masai warm, welcoming and very attentive. Rooms - open air - I did not want to leave.....shower with a view, loo with a view....beautiful views all around. Being...

Il Ngwesi is isolated, north of the Lewa Conservancy in arid country, but well worth the drive to get there. We spent two nights there in June2015. The facility is lovely, and our rooms were amazing—completely open on one side with great views of animals at a watering hole. The emphasis on Maasai culture was most educational, and James our...
