I booked 6 nights at the Amari Vang Vieng in April. I loved the amenities of the hotel, the food and the available nearby activities. My kayaking trip conveniently ended almost in front of the hotel.

Unfortunately my trip was cut short due to the threat of lock down. However, the front desk manager and staff quickly and efficiently arranged my return to Vientiane, and issued me accommodation and food vouchers to be used at a later date. In August I returned to finish my holiday and was treated to an upgrade of room with a brilliant view of the mountains and the Song River. I was also touched that the General Manager came and chatted to me one evening in the restaurant.

Despite the downturn in the tourism industry, great service and hospitality continues at the Amari Vang Vieng.

Me and my wife recently stayed at the Amari hotel in Vang Vieng and we had a wonderful time. The mountain views from our room were breathtaking and the staff was very attentive and friendly. I'd like to personally thank Ton and Toum from the front desk for arranging such a great birthday surprise for my wife in our room. She was over the moon and I couldn't be more grateful to them.
I recommend this hotel for anyone looking for comfortable accommodations, amazing views and exceptional service.

As with the other reviews the hotel has a lot going for it, great views, comfy bed, easy check in, nice breakfast (if you like cold fried eggs),nice big pool, good helpful staff.
Its when you look closely its missing something possibly Armani cutting operating costs to maximise the profit.
The aircon is of a central type and never gets the room to nice cool sleeping temp, set at its lowest 18C should be cool, but it is not.
The floors and toilets are all sufering from black mould and dirt.
The tile grout throughout the hotel has turned black, it was white originally.
Some reading this are thinking I am being overly fussy and picky. Quite frankly I would expect a luxury hotel like this to be way above the simple standard I set at home
There is clear evidence of dirty mop water in use and the bathrooms need some serious attention.
Note to Mr Amari why are you designing toilets that are so very difficult to maintain for your staff ?
You can't be serious about the bathroom design, you build these big window in the bedroom bathrooms is to save money I'm sure.
The only time you look through that window is the moment you check in after that the blind is closed.
At least make the toilet compartment private
A minor irritant is the bedside lights are only contolled from one side of the bed
In sort, would we stay there again? .... No!

The hotel staff were great and very attentive. The front desk team were so friendly and kind.

Overall the location of the hotel is incredible, and the views from the river side were breathtaking.

Unfortunately we were a little let down as the hotel were running a large 3-4 day event for most of our stay, but the front desk manager was very kind to extend a small discount on our final bill. Thank you!

And then on the last day a large group checked in and decided to use the swimming pool as a “bath tub”. All these old men jumped in with their soiled clothes and shoes on and it was just disgusting. The pool area turned into a cesspool.

Recommendation:

- it’s a family hotel and therefore ban smoking around the pool area or have a clear demarcated area where you can smoke.
- have a staff member on duty all the time to monitor errant guests.

Overall, it was a great hotel.

Our stay at the hotel was very good. Unfortunately the tour operator had booked us city view rooms and all river views were sold out, so no upgrade was possible.

The room was very large and comfortable.
Nice pool area with a fantastic view and very good gym too.

Breakfast provided a wide choice of both Asian and Western options.
As this is a very big hotel, at breakfast the buffet area can get quite crowded.

Communication with reception personnel in English was not always straightforward. I think the hotel should invest in offering some English classes to the employees.

We booked 2 rooms here and the room was very clean and has the stunning view from the balcony with the panoramic view of mountain & Song River featuring very comfort bed & pillow. Hotel is located adjacent to the Song River with many restaurant and activities nearby. There were many Thai tourists during our stay cause it is the long weekend in Thailand. Staffs were quite helpful and polite even the busy day and crowded guests. The food and wine here was quite good and not expensive. ABF is OK, especially the local "stir fried glass noodle with bamboo shoots" was very tasty.

Unfortunately, we just realized that our agency can't find and deliver the EMU speed train ticket due to high demand of tickets without prior notice in last minute. We have only 4-5 hrs. to find the way to go back to Vientiane to catch the flight.

We tried to contact the front hotel and get help from the staff guy named "Ton", he was very kind & helpful. He tried to arrange and book the alternated private van to transfer us to Vientiane and he was still trying to facilitate us and guide the driver to reach our destination in Vientiane along the way back.

Thanks again to "Ton", we appreciate your service mind! and hope to go back to stay here again.

Overall a pleasant and comfortable stay. Shower (hot and cold adjustment) is good! Especially after a hot day out mountain climbing! Food restaurants nearby give us many good options! Staff are helpful, especially Mr Thana who recommended sights to visit in a day, getting a tuk tuk for the outing, giving us great information about Vang Vieng attractions and elsewhere in Laos. Breakfast is great, so is the gym. Location is central, close to shops and night market, and can walk or cycle 1.6 km to Chang cave! If there’s an improvement that can be made, it’s to provided smaller weights in gym. Otherwise, strongly recommended! :D

Definitely a great location with wonderful view (if you have the chance to have a balcony - river view, it s just stunning) and high standards (amazing pool, great beds). I had difficulties asking for info in advance, but once at the hotel Mr Tontarn at the reception made my life super easy: he organised in 5 minutes - literally - a great tour in the countryside to see the best locations with a reliable tuk tuk driver he knew, at a fair price. He also kindly and quickly organised my transfer to the train station. My stay in Vang Vieng wouldn’t have been the same without him !

An remarkable experience!!
The visit was impressive…
The hotel 🏨 is neat, perfectly built, I took a suit room, enjoyed every second, the bad was super spoiling.. Super clean very surprising to find this quality in Laos 🇱🇦. And I really appreciated the property.
Located perfectly, the view is the best in the city, structured and designed very nice.

The stuff, ohhh… can not be better!
The management should be be so proud!
You will get the best emily service there..
Unfogetable!

The breakfast , no words to thank the experience !
The selection is, super, you can even find white goat 🐐 cheeses, not to mention the Asian selection.
Yes 👍, you should not skip the experience if visiting Van Vieng without staying in Amari there.

Thomas, the Superior King Room with River view I had (although it didn't look like the one in the picture) could easy be configured to fit 2 queen sized bed. 1 queen and 2 singles would be a very tight fit. Assuming all Amari's Superior King Room is about the same size, then your family of 4, could fit in the Room. The issue would be whether Amari is able to configure the Room for your family.

Dear Park S, Please be informed to take our hotel van at additional charge Baht 2,500 per way or take a local at the northern bus station in Vientiane which may cost around Baht 250 per person. It will take 3.5 hours to reach Vang Vieng. Best regards, The Management
