Beautiful location and very nice staff. Had one of the new bungalows at the far end with a view of the cliffs. It came 120.000 in November. WiFi is best by the front desk where you can also order reasonably priced meals including breakfast.

It is very hard to review Maylyn Guesthouse so I will try and sort it into the good and the bad.... The good - very good price (100,000 kip) for a double room with fan and private bathroom and shared balcony - fantastic views of the mountains with a stream running below the balcony - lots of kittens and butterflies...

A beautiful setting with clean rooms at a reasonable price. Food was good and again, reasonably priced. It is a very short walk out from VV, but it is literally a 5min walk across a bridge. Kids loved the freedom of running around the grounds.

We decided to visit maylyn after we saw the reviews on Trip and we were not disappointed! I don't think you can much more for 10 dollars a night. Amazing views, beautiful setting and a lovely balcony to enjoy it all on. Also rooms were a good size, with hot water and a fan (no AC) It is a bit...

We had a clean room, with a nice bed, some space, and a hot shower for 80.000 kip, which is already very good value. The view in front of the room was just amazing : rice fields, etc.. and you have a nice terrace to enjoy it ! The guesthouse is out of the center, after the bridge, which makes...

I have been to vang vieng twice now. This is, hands down, without a doubt, the best place in town. The rooms all have fantastic views and they're very affordable. It's across the river, so you can have an unadulterated, perfect view of a small river that feeds into the big one. Joe, an Irishman who runs the place, is...

My partner and I stayed here for two nights whilst travelling overland in our Land Rover. We were greeted warmly by a staff member who showed us three rooms to show us what was on offer depending on our budget. We picked a bungalow room with a balcony facing a rice paddy. It had a fan, hot shower, toilet and...

We were recommended this place by our climbing guide book. It became a perfect base camp for a week of rockclimbing adventures. Located in the shadow of Pha Daeng Mountain (where most of Vang Vieng's climbing is located) it is amazing. Kittens, puppies, nature and what not surrounds every bungalow. During rainy days we lounged around in the gardens, reading...

If you like kittens, puppies, butterflies, flowery tropical garden, peace and quiet, this place is for you. It’s located on the other side of town so a bike or bicycle would be useful. Staffs were friendly though I felt like there weren’t enough of them. The room was clean but some light bulbs were out. Recommend for those who want...

This property is a gem for the well-travelled looking for a different set of experience. If you're not into all that tubing and drinking nonsense, this is a place or you to appreciate the beautiful nature that the quiet Laotian countryside has to offer. Get a bungalow if you can and laze away the warm weather in a hammock on...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a budget guest house/mini eco resort. We are on the edge of a village our rear faces towards the Karst mountains. We are located next door to the beautiful and expensive Vieng Tara Hotel. We have a variety of rooms some are simple basic timber frame and bamboo bungalows for people who want a more authentic SE Asian experience and we do have more conventional masonry rooms for those who need them. The main appeal of our place is the location, the views and of course our Garden which at times is full of butterflies. Early wet season is best for the butterflies. I recognise that we may not be what everyone is looking for but many people love us.. ... more   less
