The beautiful resort at the beach of Ngapali is a perfect place to enjoy and relax. The hotel management and the staff, who speak English well, take excellent care of of their guests. The restaurant offers great meals prepared by their chef.

Lovely resort right on the beach. Picked me up from the airport, showed me around the facilities and told me about some of the things I can do nearby. Staff are exceptional, as is the beach side restaurant and the spa. Would put this on my top 10 places!

In the middle of political turmoil, this is where you go to recharge. Everything is perfect without being over the top. The location is the best in the bay. Very few rocks in front of the hotel. The rooms are spacious, spotless, decorated with taste. The staff is warm and personable, very attentive and competent. The food is very good. The spa is excellent

I have been coming to this hotel for the over last 5 years as an expat living in Myanmar. This was an awesome and my favorite hotel in Ngapali. Great rooms, even better breakfast, very comfortable and cozy beach area, amazingly hospitable staff. Except heavily overprized (like the rest of good hotels at Ngapali), everything was perfect. However, due to the C-19 and military coup, the whole hospitality sector in Ngapali (and the rest of the country) have been hit hard, and they lost a significant chunk of the international tourists, while expats and Myanmar tourists are still coming. Unfortunately (for internationals & expats), it seems that the hotel is changing their target group, thus they appointed a new Myanmar manager, and attempting to attract Myanmar tourists more. This was also reflected in a new policy that guests in the hotel's open bar at the beach "must be dressed properly and wear shirts/t-shirts" when having a drink during the day. While I do respect local customs, it is really hot to seat fully dressed in a baron the beach. I wish best for this hotel, and hope they will have more tourists and retain their international character.

Response from Savoy Bayview, General Manager at Bayview - the beach resort
Responded 18 Feb 2022
Dear Nik, Thank you very much for offering us your kind review. we really appreciate it. It is true that there are more local tourists visiting us these days but we are not doing much changes and we try to keep our best standard we ever had. We hope all our guests enjoy staying at our Bayview - the beach resort and we love to offer our best service. and we feel always so grateful to see our regular customers. Thank you very much you had a good time at our Bayview and visiting us our Sunset bar. Actually, the policy of wearing full dress while visiting our Sunset is not our new policy or particular change because of local tourists. We have this policy for 5 to 6 years already and the policy was suggested by our regular customers and families. Thank you very much for your kind understanding our policy and we are looking forward to see you again at our lovely resort and we wish you having good time with us in Ngapali. Sunny regards Bayview Team We are just keeping the policy we had before. Thank you very much for your kind understanding for our policy.

From the welcome at the airport, and the Zen welcome at reception, we knew we would love this hotel. The manager made himself immediately known and explained all the hotel had to offer. He was visible from breakfast through to the evening, and took great trouble to speak to all guests personally. He offered advice and help when ever needed. Tastefully decorated public areas, open to the elements, to take in the views and delightful climate. The bedrooms are spacious, as are the bathrooms. Along with a private sunbathing deck looking onto the gardens. What more could you ask for! The breakfast was exceptional, the best of a three week tour! I was delighted to see so many healthy options, after weeks of heavy pastries and fried food. We chose to eat in each evening, as the food was similarly good and vegetarians were well catered for. We took advantage of the spa, as the prices were very reasonable. My massage was one of the best I had ever had. A large professional team took care of our every need , and were never far away. A large quiet pool area was on offer, as well as a wonderful beach area that was similarly uncrowned. I can not fault this hotel and would certainly return.

The atffis very friendly, not always speaking english, which may cause some difficulties sometimes. The beach is great and quiet. The breakfast is GORGEOUS Do not miss the sunset Happy hours from 5 to 6

Spent 4 nights at this very relaxing and beautiful resort at the quieter north end of Ngapali beach. What a gorgeous place! We loved it. Resort provided efficient and friendly pick-up and return to Thandwe airport, and on check-in we didn’t have to wait long for our garden view bungalow. There was a wonderful laidback and relaxing vibe at the hotel, with very charming and helpful staff. Our room was a good size, very cool, comfortable and well equipped. Nice bathroom layout with excellent lighting. Our garden bungalow room had a terrace with sun beds and a parasol and we found it more private than the beach-front positions, which had rows of sun beds laid out in front of them all day, although obviously we didn’t have the gorgeous sea view from our room! Our room 602 had a bit of noise from the road behind during the day and early morning, but not a big issue. All kept beautifully clean and gardens very lush. Great to be able to use the free refillable water bottles around the hotel, and drinking water was free. Great spa - I had a lovely pedicure and back massage in a smart, quiet and tranquil treatment room. Excellent! Breakfasts were delicious. Great choice of continental style foods, fresh fruit, local specialities, juices and eggs etc freshly cooked to order. We ate lunches at the beach front “Sunset Bar” - gorgeous salads and a choice of wine by the glass (sadly not the delicious Myanmar wine Aythaya by the glass) and then later on great cocktails in the 2 for 1 happy hour watching the wonderful sunset from the sand below. Magical! Dinner was good quality but the same menu as lunch throughout our whole stay, so we also enjoyed walking or tuk-tuking to other local restaurants which made a change - and were better value. Great walks along the beach. Local shops and stalls for snacks and gifts, but generally this is a very quiet and beautiful white beach and the whole experience is just gorgeous! We loved our stay here.

We originally had a reservation to stay at Bayview having been to Ngapali Beach for the past few years and thought we’d try somewhere different accommodation wise but in the end we booked to stay further along the beach. We are looking to come again next year though so thought we’d pop in for dinner to see what the hotel, bar, food etc was like. I had the “daily catch” which was around 15USD and pretty good so no complaints there however the table was so dark I had to put my phone torch on to eat, the wine of the month (red) was absolutely awful (7USD a glass), and the service wasn’t great. I can only assume that the service was poor because we were not residents? Little things such as every other table received a basket of bread (we didn’t), each time we wanted a drink we had to approach the bar staff as the other waiting staff seemed a bit distracted. The resort has so many brilliant reviews I think we must have been unfortunately but it has made me decide to take this accommodation off the short list for our next two week stay and we’ll stick with Bayview Villas or Pristine Mermaid which have been fabulous each time we’ve stayed / eaten there.
