I had stayed in this hotel a couple of years ago. So when I reserved the hotel, I had some expectations coming from my good memory of the hotel. But my real experiences this time seem not to be satisfactory. Facilities gone unrepaired. Almost no efforts to improve. Management team should do more to fill the gap.

This hotel is located in the Osaek area in part of Mt. Sorak national park. The hotel facility is quite old, but it offers reasonable price for both room and other serivces and the best part "easy access to the hiking trail starting point.

I'd stayed here a few years ago and had a positive experience, but this time I was surprised by how much older the hotel seemed. In addition, the room really needed a good cleaning. Sheets were noticeably stained and the kitchenette counter/sliding doors were covered in fingerprints. A previous guest's socks were left under the bed. The sofa was threadbare.... More

The amenities and spas were awesome. Very thoughtful to include a blood pressure monitor for people with conditions, just so they are alright to go for the hotsprings. The food in the hotel was great and we had a lovely time. We were there for 2 nights in March 18, 2013. I cannot change the date of travel in the... More

N38°04.830' E128°26.822' The Green Yard Hotel is the only hotel in Osaek and famous for its carbon acid hot spring baths (oncheon). It has spread over two separate buildings, one abandoned already. The remaining is a massive building with two underground levels, a swimming pool, karaoke hall, dining hall and hot spring baths. They asked too much for a room... More

This was a booked and paid for by my boss, so I can't comment on price. He also got us a free sauna pass. The room was really nice - firm beds, TV, fridge, little lounge area with sofa, shower room. There was also a kettle in the room. The location is beautiful and just down the road a bit... More

We didn't stay in the hotel, we just visited to check out their spa. We took a bus from Yangyang up to the hotel (about 1 hour, last stop) and went down into the Oncheon area. It was a really great bathhouse area. They have a special bath there that is a carbon acid bath, which is really amazing to... More

Nice emplacement in middle of national park even if nothing front door except a charming spring it is only 20 km to seaside or center of the park. Clear and quite Korean spa top to go there at any time. Staff don't speak English so much but you can enjoy a family atmosphere for this about 100 room hotels. Renovated... More

Pros: staff (nice, some spoke English), lobby, spa Cons: hard bed (normal Korea), questionable restaurant/bar, extra fee for spa Bottom line: I stayed at a motel two doors down the next night for less than half the price, paid 9000 won to use the Greenyard spa, and the experience was virtually the same (clean room, hard bed) First, all the...
