We initially wanted the most expensive room facing the sea on the first level but it wasn’t available so we booked the garden room at the rear of the property on the ground level. This was the best as we had our own verandah overlooking the restaurant, pool and out the large

The food at Lion's Rest was great! The menu is not super extensive but everything we tried was good. There are some western dishes on the menu like burgers, sandwiches and pasta, as well as the usual fried rice and noodles, BBQ and of course Sri Lankan curries (very good!). Prices are moderate. Everybody in our party of 5 kids from 6-13 and 4 adults were very happy to have all or meals during 4 days at Lion's.
