The hostel smells badly of dog. There is no atmosphere and the owners alarm the communal area so you must go to your room and can not sit and talk. They provide no mosquito nets........ I asked for a mosquito net and was told by the owners there was no mosquitos! In a swampland.......We woke covered in mozzy bites. So...

I stayed in the dorm for 60Q. Boat in and out is free as well as the boat out at 8.30am, every other time its an extra Q20 per person which can make it a bit expensive. Dorm was basic but fine, toilet was clean, there is one nice and warm shower downstairs for those cold and rainy days. Restaurant...

I spent two nights at Hotel Kangaroo after arriving in Rio Dulce from Honduras. It's a quiet remote hotel about 5 minutes by boat from Rio Dulce town run by a lovely Aussie - Mexican couple. I loved the personal touch that the hosts Gary and Graciela gave to my experience, as well as the very nice other guests I...

Hostel run by a nice Mexican/Australian owner couple and nice staff. Very tasty breakfast and Mexican cusine. Chilled place and (at least during those three days) also the travellers were very nice and interesting. Shower and wifi could be nicer/better. Kayaking was very nice.

Graciela... She is the best woman: Strong and soft at the same time (as many of latin american women), so friendly and always trying to give you a little extra something to your menu choices that are great! And Gary...he is "The guide" by excellence, you only need 2 minutes to tune your ears and get used to his accent,...

The Hotel is nicely located in one of the sea arms. You can swim directly from the terrace if you want and the restuarant is pretty nice. Although I wasnt impressed by the dessert (not the home made Pie). Also very small portion. The internet was a nightmare. I had to send a few emails. Took ages to get anything...

The hotel is in an idyllic setting away from boat traffic. The owners Gary and his wife Graciella are a very friendly couple with lots of helpful hints using local transport and guides. Mainly Mexican food. They have a nice dock where you can relax to have beer. nice seating lounge. We had a small bungalow. No mosquito netting. Comfortable...

V chilled out hostel. Fantastic that it's so close to Fronteras and easy transport options and yet a world away after a five minute boat ride. We never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes for a pick up! Me and my friends shared a 4 bed bungalow. One criticism of this was that there was no door on the...

“The bungalows were very nice if going as a couple I would definitely get one of those. I stayed in a single room, there are no windows just screens, they are still private but you will hear all the jungle noises and people.”
