Our family run guesthouse and restaurant is situated in the picturesque georgian village of Durrow, Laois in Ireland. The house was purpose built by Lord Ashbrook in 1777 and meticuosly restored by the Murphy family in 2005. It has 10 beautifully appointed bedrooms and the restaurant is open on Friday and Saturday nights and for Sunday lunch. It was formerly called the Bianconi Red Lion Guesthouse.

Family run guesthouse more like a mini hotel. Very comfortable, food excellent and the staff so friendly too. Highly recommend staying here. Situated in the heart of Durrow town, with pretty surrounding countryside (see photo).

Many thanks for your review, we do apologies you should have been offered a continental breakfast. The reason we serve breakfast later is really to accommodate our guests that have attended a wedding as they prefer a late breakfast. Kind Regards Sean and Rosezita

"Was in 20. Lots of stairs. Avoid if not fit."
"We booked well in advance and got the best 'house' out the back."
"Some rooms have a lot of stairs to climb so maybe check where room is on booking."
