For Uruguay one of the hotels to recommend if going to Brazil via Routa 5. Stayed 2 weeks here. The staff is very friendly and helps out perfectly. Fitness gym, sauna and massage all available. Rooms appear clean and those are cleaned every day. Hotel has a nice flare with lovely moto setup. I like my stay thumbs up

Lovely hotel completely decorated on the theme of Carlos Gardel. Very well kept and clean. Located out of the centre of Tacuarembo. It's the minus point. Free parking. Warm lobby and pleasant building with all comfort. Agreeable room very comfortable. Maybe not rather soundproofed, we heard the tv of the next room. Well equiped bathroom with all you need. Professional...

It's sort of a Holiday Inn looking place, and the rooms are similar-feeling, though they are spacious and clean and the beds are comfortable. But the decor and service puts it a cut above; there's a lovely old-school charm. It's not that cheap, but the food is good, there's a great breakfast spread, and they have nice wine. It's a...

Stayed three enjoyable nights. Rooms are spacious and nicely decorated with beautiful wood beams in the ceiling, brick walls, one twin and one queen size bed in the standard room. My room faced the street but I did not notice a lot of traffic noise (perhaps because the AC was always on). Small TV but I never turn on the...

The Carlos Gardel in Tacuarembo is a difficult concept to grasp. On one hand, it is supposed to be a boutique, Gardel-themed hotel. The lovely decorations of the common areas and restaurant, the nice touch of naming each room after a Gardel tango, the relatively expensive prices of the room and restaurant all tell the tale of a place with...

Placed in the centre of town it is a short taxi ride from the bus terminal which costs about 80 US cents Coffee and continental breakfast are included in the tariff. The hotel does not serve other meals but there is an excellent restaurant called "La Rueda" across the street serving well cooked food at reasonable prices. Self drive cars...
