Marie and Brian are the ultimate hosts. This beautiful BnB is a must stay for anyone staying in Wanaka. This historic cottage has a ole world charm that has to be experienced to be appreciated. The bed was divine and ensuite beautiful. The guest lounge comfortable and homely. What makes this BnB stand out from the rest is the hosts....

We stayed for 1 night here in early Feb. We were made to feel very welcome by our hosts and nothing was too much trouble, such as booking us a table for evening dinner to enquiring about available flights to Milford Sound. The beds were very comfortable and breakfast gorgeous especially the home grown raspberries from the beautiful gardens surrounding...

We were lucky to get a room - our landlady in the B&B from the night before found it for us!!! Unfortunately, we had the night before to compare it with and the two were;t comparable, although Ferrymans was just fine. The landlord is an atty o=who cooked us breakfast. A bit small and not so quiet, but we liked...

From the moment we arrived we felt very welcome in the most genuine way by our hosts. Our room was lovely and comfortable, looking out over the cottage's amazing garden, which surrounds the entire cottage. Roses, fruit trees and every plant imaginable surrounds the cottage. The cottage was located one block from the Clutha River trail providing a beautiful walking...

We ended up here after arriving in town with no advance reservation and learning everything was full due to the Queenstown Marathon. It was the nicest B&B stay we had in NZ. The gardens were lovely and Mary and Brian were wonderful hosts. The antique furniture was beautiful and it had all the extra touches that make a stay special....

My mother and I have stayed at this lovely place about a week ago and it was just fabulous. The house and garden are so beautiful and eventhough we just stayed for a night we really enjoyed the tranquility there and looking at the beautiful roses from our bed. The room was very clean and Brian and Mary paid so...

This was our second visit to Ferryman's Cottage at Wanaka and it was even more lovely than the first visit. The cottage is picturesque set in a really pretty garden close to the River Clutha and within easy reach of Wanaka. The two rooms are delightful, clean and comfortable and the breakfasts are amazing. Fresh fruit from the garden, home...

We greatly enjoyed staying in this lovely cottage. The room was well appointed and opened out to a pretty, lush garden. The location is very close to a number of biking/walking trails - all of which are picturesque and show off New Zealand's nature at some of its best. The breakfasts at Ferryman's are first class and the hosts -...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
An historic, charming home built by the first European (Pakeha) born in this area, set in a fragrant old-world cottage garden. Nestled a stone's throw away from the famous fishing river, the Clutha river. Marie loves cooking. Allow yourselves to be pampered. We utilise fresh home grown or locally grown produce whenever possible. Dinners by prior arrangement.Relax in peace and tranquility, far from the "madding" crowds. Our cat "Indy" decided our hospitality (and presumably our food) was so good that she left home and moved into Ferryman's permanently. ... more   less
