We stayed one night and were fortunate to be given arguably the best room, upstairs with a little deck overlooking the garden bar. The room was simple but very well appointed, with a lovely bathroom and good quality eco-amenities. Note there is no in-room fridge, and you also can't take drinks from the bar up to your room. It would...

I know this hotel well from previous travels. If on route to queenstown, wanaka Arrowtown or back East, this is a beautiful place to stay or just chill out and warm up. Log fire, outside beer garden, lovely gardens. Comfy rooms, craft beers. What more do you want? It is one of the oldest hotels in NZ. Try the seafood...

Last time we passed the Cardrona Hotel it was 2.9c,raining and we were cycling over the Crown Range in the Tour of New Zealand pro-am bike race. It passed in a blur of shivers. This time we made the effort to stop and what a delightful stop it was too. Beautiful pub. Didn't eat but the menu seemed good. Great...

Lovely rooms but restaurant and service gone down hill badly. Last 2 times we have been in a group and booked well in advance only to be told that several meals were sold out or not available making choices from menu very slim. I ordered an expensive lamb salad and was very disappointed in how plain and small it was....

We stopped here for lunch on our way to the West Coast and so glad we did. Was such a quaint place with great atmosphere inside. Fireplace and comfy sofas, whilst outside, there were picnic tables to enjoy the sunlight. The meals were awesome - so much food! Was so full afterwards. Decent prices. Would definitely stop here again.

The Cardrona Hotel is one of New Zealand's gems; an abundance of character, good pub food, smart accommodation and oozing charm. When we arrived there was a mix up with the booking and what initially looked to be only one night instead of two, was resolved. Despite the 10 minute wait in the restaurant area while this was resolved, no...

Hi Catherine, Thanks for the feedback and our apologies about the hiccup with your bill. We've also had a word with our morning staff serving breakfast. Our complimentary breakfast is a continental-style breakfast, but a cooked breakfast is available if you choose to order off our breakfast menu (available until 11am). I'm sorry if this wasn't made clear to you,...

What a gem of a place where time seems to have stood still: the fabric of the building and all its artefacts have been lovingly preserved over the years since it was opened in 1863. Rooms are extremely comfortable and tastefully furnished in keeping with the period. The pub/restaurant is equally very good, impressive range of beers and imaginitive menu...

Stayed for two nights - worth every minute The hotel rooms were beautiful and roomy and the meals and service was amazing. The cosy wood fire outside was a perfect addition to our New Years Eve stay Thanks Cardrona!

An unbelievable pub. Remote setting. Great beer garden set high on the crown ranges. Really worth a visit for a beer or lunch if your driving from Queenstown to Wanaka or just visit from either of those places. Friendly pub. Stunning setting. Alpine good times. Great in summer as well.

A hotel that has a historical background but it is quite comfortable. The fireplace with some logs burning, a local beer and good food for dinner. How good can it get. Room is spacious enough (but we are from Europe with many historical hotels with really small rooms). To be able to walk into the garden was a treat. Quite...
