Warm and cozy common areas welcome you. The breakfast served is wonderful. The rooms are small but crisp and clean. The staff is very attentive, they actually arranged a flight for me to Milford Sound for a day trip.

Only stayed one night but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a powerful shower. Despite being close to the town centre and road the room was quiet. Simply styled rooms with a Scandinavian feel. Nice sitting room area and lovely big dining table to share with guests and lovely breakfast. Lots of nooks and crannies to investigate. Within...

Thank you. Te Wanaka Lodge is lucky to have the option of all the nooks and crannies, where people can enjoy the comforts, with or without guests from the lodge. The convenience of it's location is a bonus. Regards, Wayne

Stayed here for only one night. The beds are comfortable and the heater worked well given we arrived the first day snow fell for year 2013. There is a nice living area to hang and the only place you can get wi-fi. Location is great as it is close to all the restaurants and you walk past a creek on...

We are very lucky to have Cheryl on board with the great breakfasts and stories to match. The location is great being so close to town without being in te heart of everything. Maybe next time, Te Wanaka Lodge can keep you a little longer. Regards, Wayne

Convenient to the town centre, with a nice garden feel. The owner, Wayne, was very friendly and helpful. Free hot drinks always available in two comfortable guest lounges, also cake in the afternoon! We particularly enjoyed the very good breakfast around one large sociable table. There was a nice wooden hot tub in the garden. The bed was very comfortable,...

My wife and I spent four nights at Te Wanaka in February. Despite being full for most of our stay the Lodge continued to function smoothly. Wayne is a good host. Tea, coffee and the daily papers being readily available add a nice touch. Breakfast is good. Beds comfortable and all areas clean.

It was great to hear you enjoy the little touches such as daily afternoon tea and complimentary papers. Stayed here with my husband in early January for two nightsand we were delighted with our choice. We arrived from Queenstown a couple of hours before "official" checking in time - "no problem, just leave your bags with us and we will have your room ready as soon as possible". When we checked in, still early, we were given a...

Thanks for staying with us in January. We are delighted you thoroughly enjoyed Te Wanaka Lodge, and made great use of all of the guest facilities. You are correct the lodge is a friendly place where guests enjoy sharing their travel stories and interests. I think you must have caught the only bad weather for the summer, so it was...

I spent two nights with my wife. The hosts are very friendly and breakfast is nice but room we got was very small. No view in spite of a promise we got. The morning cleanup of the room took one minute and was not satisfactory. Too hot in the room and if you open the window you lose privacy and...

Thank you so much for your feedback. I am terribly sorry you did not receive the room you were promised, it is certainly not our intention to mislead you. This summer had amazing weather, with above average temperatures in the afternoons. We do recommend our guests open the ranch sliders onto the balconies in the afternoons to cool off the...

The double room we booked was not really what we had expected. Although equipped with a King sized bed the room was very small, the bathroom had only cheap interior equipment. But what bothered us most was the fact that the room temperature at 4 P.M. was about 30 degrees (room was right below the roof) and there was no...

Wayne and Mandy (and lovely Cheryl) have clearly learnt from running a luxury lodge - they are exceptional hosts and anticipate every need: from all day tea and coffee facilities (with a cake of the day!) and an "honour system" bar with local wines & beers, to a pre stay email asking what you would like to do during your...

Te Wanaka Lodge has a great welcome, lovely garden with a hot tube, tasty breakfast, great location 5 minutes from the lake and GREAT hosts. Katja, thanks so much for your lovely review. We are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay here. Great that you got to enjoy the hot tub, even during one of the hottest summers we have had.
