My husband and I spent one night with Karen and Peter at the Maungawera Lodge and it was one of the most fun, relaxing, beautiful nights of our whole trip! The rooms are beautiful, clean, and have just great views. We loved sitting out at the pool (what a treat!) and reading our books. It was really fun to visit...

A group of us overtook Karen and Peters house for a week. There was a mix of husband and wifes with babies and small children to singles. Karen and Peter made our stay in Wanaka so special due to their kind nature and wonderful New Zealand country hospitality. We basically had their massive, beautiful house to ourselves. We used the Lodge for our staff retreat. For this purpose it was fantastic. The facilities for work were just what we needed, Easy to use internet, data projector and screen. Flexible hosts when it came to timing meals and breaks. The surroundings, pool and outdoor setting could not have been better for relaxing and enjoying. An excellent location to...

Our group of ten people arrived on the evening of our last day of a six day four wheel drive trip through the stunning South Island high country. My husband & I stayed at Maungawera Lodge for close to a month, while he was hunting with a local guide.
