In October last year (2015) I visited this lodge with my wife and daughter of 9 years old. As my wife had already been to this amazing lodge in this very nice game reserve, she decided to share this with us. For both me and my daughter, my wife couldn't have made a better choice. We stayed for 4 days....

After coming across an online discounted deal, we were thrilled to be visiting Welgevonden Private Game Reserve for the first time. Shibula's setting is one of the prettiest I have ever seen, with magnificent views from the main dining deck of a rocky outcrop and far-stretching bushveld. The buildings are old but still exude a sense of charm and still...

We stayed at Shibula after purchasing a fabulous discounted deal online and visited the Welgevonden Game Reserve for the first time. After having experienced a number of game lodges, our Shibula stay was a mixed experience. Our experience of the game drives and the game reserve itself was outstanding, but the lodge itself was pretty average. We were very grateful...

My wife (a South African) and I stayed recently. We had high expectations, especially as my wife had heard great things from professionals (lawyers) who had stayed there in the past. We just stayed 3 days in another lodge in the same preserve, Nedile. So we had a lot to compare. Nedile was up to date, food, drives, service, excellent....

Great lodge..realy good diner and the park is so big you do not get a "zoo" feeling. The ranger knew what he was talking about and took the time to track a lion. Unfortunately 4 lions have died about a week ago..but many elephants, rhino's, zebra's and other wildlife to be found. We had an amazing time and i would...

I have seen my share of safari lodges in Southern Africa, but this one is standing out for the service. The rooms are excellent with indoor and outdoor showers, private pool or jacuzzi. The meals are good and we even had an braai. The service in the restaurant is superb and the wine cellar is not bad at all. The...

We stayed with them for 3 nights. Our ranger was very nice and had a lot of knowledge, that way we learned something new every game drive. The Lodge doesn't have any Wifi and no Cell Signal, which for us was very convenient, as we wanted to relax for a couple of days. The room was nice and as clean...
