I have never been anywhere more beautiful, serene, and peaceful. Exceptional room, staff, great privacy, white sands, bar, restaurant (very good food, albeit a bit pricey by Zanzibar standards), and away from the hustle/bustle of Stone Town. Walk through the local village to understand what life is really like on a daily basis in Nungwi. You can get lost in...

We arrived the hotel just a month before the reopening, so everything was almsot complete and we hardly were botheres by the construction around us. The resort is beautiful, the staff is GREAT - very attentive and pleasant !!!! The rooms are fabulous. Beds are comfortable, and the balcony facing the ocean is amazing. Definately recomanded. They are left with...

My boyfriend and I stayed at Nungwi Beach Resort after having spent 2 sweaty days in Stone Town and we were both pretty exhausted from working hard in the run up to the holiday. This resort is amazing. The experience started from the moment we arrived where there is a rather grand entrance whereby we were greeted by the owners...

Reviews I read about this hotel mentioned the construction. The good news is that it should be finished about June. The bad news is that it is growing from a pleasant 20 rooms in 5 four room cottages - with 2 up and 2 down nicely sized rooms. It will soon be a 100 room Holiday Inn with swimming pool...

We have just returned from staying at Nungwi village after asking for a room on spec. Our top floor room of one of the small bungalows by the beach had a great view, A/C, fan and decent bathroom with walk in shower. The rates were very competitive for the area at just $75/night. This maybe because we were at the...

I have just returned from Nungwi Village. The service was excellent, the staff frequently went beyond the call-of-duty in order to accommodate our requests. The resort is under new management since the previous complaints were aired. I thoroughly recommend the place. The building work was ongoing but out of sight and out of earshot.

We stayed at the Nungwi Village Beach resort after a safari trip and were very disappointed. There is currently construction work going on to double the size of the hotel and despite assurances that this would not generate noise, it obviously did. The accommodation is basic but kept very clean by the diligent staff. However the food is not good...

Zanzibar has lovely beaches and a wonderfull serene ambience. Snorkelling is wonderfull and the sealife great. Unfortunately this resort must have just opened when we visited it. There was an unpleasent odour at the bar and the outdoor breakfast was riddled with flies. Rooms were really not up to any standard, and did not even provide a single glass, not...

This is possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in!! We booked a standard room for 4 nights and were given a room which was more than sub-standard. We arrived late afternoon to find the room was damp, smelly and dark with a 6' brick wall directly outside the window. When we asked to be moved to a better...

Would NOT recommend this place for the price at all. The room was below average, even though sea facing, and the customer service was horrible. The resort has a sulfer odor to it and the food was bad. Better to go to Matemwe if you'd like a nicer beach and a more relaxing atmosphere.
