We booked 4 days at Matemwe Beach Village for the end of our trip in Tanzania (having climbed Kili and gone on safari). It was exactly what we needed! It was really quiet so we could relax and most days we had the pool to ourselves (of which is in a beautiful setting). The staff were very attentive and did... More

Having come from an amazing full on Safari in Tanzania we were looking forward to a much needed chill and chill we did, the food at Matemwe is first class with a great choice and good service. I must add the rooms are a little tired and in much need of some TLC however, this did not mare our stay... More

This place is great. My wife and I spent three nights of our honeymoon here, enjoying the sun, waves, and sand. And pool. We have not been to many more relaxing places. The beach has perfect white, powdery sand, and there is a great pool for low-tide times. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Abraham made sure we were taken... More

We stayed in August 2016 following a safari. The location is fabulous right on a wide sandy beach, although you cannot swim in the sea at low tide due to the numerous sea urchins. It’s a place to simply unwind and relax. The other great thing was the food which was simply wonderful – always freshly prepared and first class... More

We too arrived after safari in Tanzania and were immediately welcomed and made to feel special. As we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary they upgraded us to a lovely suite and in the evening presented us with a decorated cake accompanied by all the staff singing and dancing. Today we were treated to a candle lit dinner on the... More

This was our second visit to MBV and it was as wonderful and memorable as the first time we visited in 2012! Everything about this place makes for a perfect experience of Zanzibar Island, from the sympathetic design of the bungalows nestled in the palms and gardens, the delicious food, to watching the changing ocean landscape on your doorstep. Rooms... More

Arriving at this hotel we thought it looked like paradise. A palm roofed reception and restaurant/bar curves around a crystal blue pool, next to a palm fringed beach. And as far as lying by the pool and eating goes, paradise is a pretty good description. (don't worry if a goat wanders in to the pool area - they seem to... More

We arrived here after 6 days on safari and it was a great place to come to. Located on the beach the views were stunning and the place itself beautiful. We were shown to our very quiet lodge 2 steps from the beach, it was perfect. The room was very clean, we had a couple of issues there with the... More

We stayed 5 nights end july in this very quiet lodge. Upon arrival a little disappointed about the room with ocean view, as the ocean was hardly seeable through the dense vegetation in front. Yet, it was very near and only a few steps away. We found our room very basic and with a heavy bad smell coming from the... More
