I had a superior room and it was fantastic: 2 bathrooms 2 rooms and ocean view. The hotel was good and so was the breakfast. The staff was very kind and efficient, when we had a problem in a couple of my group's rooms they immediately solved the situation by changing rooms themselves! Really appreciated!

We just checked out from the Sea Crest Hotel and I can strongly recommend this hotel! Nice and very clean hotel and everyone that works here are so incredibly nice.
The lovely staff even helped me arrange a birthday party for my husband.
Yes you have to walk trough a small village to get to the beach. But it’s about 10 steps and it’s perfectly safe!

We were very excited that this hotel was on our itinerary because this would be the only hotel with a pool that we were staying at during our trip. The location was difficult to find. From the photos, it looked like the hotel is on beach level but it is actually up a steep staircase from the beach.

When we finally found it, the first thing we noticed was that there was no water in the pool. There went our excitement. Before checking in, I told them that we were going to find another place to stay because what we saw in person was not what was presented in the photos online nor did the website or staff mention anything about the pool being closed prior to our arrival.

They convinced us to stay with an upgraded room and offered to pay for us to use a neighboring hotel's pool so we agreed. My son was earlier bit by a stray dog so on our arrival, we had a Tanzanian friend with us who was helping us with the difficult situation and guiding us as we needed to travel to a hospital to get him care.

We were hungry after checking in and wished to eat at the restaurant. We were told that the restaurant was under construction so we had to eat in our room. We waited 2 hours for the food to come. When the food arrived, it was very basic, definitely not worth a 2 hour wait or the price.

Our friend stayed with us for dinner. After eating, the hotel staff asked us to have him leave or said we could pay an extra $50 per night for him to stay. With my son not feeling well and us needing someone to be with us to go to the hospital and the fact that the pool and restaurant were out of service, we again decided that we wanted to leave the hotel to find another more comfortable place. I told them I understand the extra charge for our friend to stay but that we have decided it is best to just look for other accommodations.

We started to pack up or things and at that point chaos ensued. They proceeded to tell me that we CANNOT leave the hotel as we have a reservation and NEED to stay there. I had already paid for for 2 nights online months prior, so they had my money and there was absolutely no reason why we needed to stay there.

Once we had all of our belongings packed and ready to go, we walked toward the lobby to leave. The staff LOCKED every exit door and surrounded us and refused to let us out of the hotel. They told me that my kids and I had to stay the night and that our friend should go out to sleep ON THE STREET and we could see him in the morning! By this time, it was late, close to midnight.

My son was feeling sick and I was worried about him having a fever after the dog bite. I begged them to let us go so we could bring him to the hospital. There were 2 ladies that proceeded to LAUGH at me and tell me whether I like it or not, we WILL be staying at their hotel. I begged the security guard to let us out of the door and he just brushed it off and said he didn't understand English.

They held us hostage for OVER AN HOUR refusing to let us leave. I was finally able to get a hold of airbnb customer service and they helped to cancel my reservation and refund my money. Once the reservation was cancelled, we were finally "allowed" to leave the premises. It was now 1:00AM and my kids were still awake.

I hope no other children will ever have to go through the nightmare these people put my kids through. On our way out, the ladies continued to laugh at what they did to us and shouted disrespectful names at me as we walked away.

These people are not human. They are evil and heartless. I am so thankful that we had a local friend with us who helped us finally get to the hospital so my son could receive care for the dog bite.

I have been traveling with my children for 14 years and this was by far the worst experience we have ever been through at a hotel.

Our holiday at Sea Crest Hotel was really awesome!!!
We soon felt at home thanks to the kindness of all the staff.
Shadya is a Super Host as well as an impeccable manager. She runs the hotel perfectly and her love for her job is remarkable as well as the care for the guests' needs and expectations.
At Sea Crest you can enjoy a variety of good food and breakfast is gorgeous. After breakfast you can either relax in the swimming pool overlooking the ocean (enjoing one of the fresh smoothies of the chef) or on the superb beach just few steps ahead.
The room was really comfortable and very clean with all kind of facilities and a large balcony on the ocean sunrise!
Every day they clean and decorate our room in such a perfect way to have us feel like never leave this wonderful place.
Everybody is really polite and helpful and the chef is always ready to surprise you with delicious dishes.
If you need a perfect holiday you cannot miss the Sea Crest Hotel !!!

We will come back any time and truly recommend it They do great!!!

Eva & Sergio

The Sea Crest hotel is located just a few minutes walk from the beach and has a wonderful view over the Indian Ocean!! Every day we woke up to turquoise water and could enjoy the view while eating in the restaurant, from the poolarea and from our room and balcony!
We could enjoy a spacious room with a very spacious shared balcony with chairs and tables! At the beach the hotel has its own beach area with good shadow and sun beds.

The staff at Sea Crest is absolutely welcoming, kind and very helpful with everything.
The rooms are very clean and nice.

All in all a hotel with a high standard!

We wanted to stay at Sea Crest Hotek for 5 days but is was so nice rooms and personal so we decided to stay longer. We ended up staying there for 3 weeks because of the hotel.

Beautiful restaurant with view over the Indian Ocean. Delicious food at dinner and a very nice breakfast with pancakes, spanish omelets and lots of fruit and fresh fruit juice. So good!

The people working at the hotel are so kind and helpful all the time.

Our beautiful and clean room and balcony had the best view over the garden, pool, restaurant and the beautiful blue ocean!
We could walk to the perfect white beach in 3 minutes.

Thank you Sea Crest for taking good care of us!
See you again next time we go to Zanzibar.

Stayed 3 nights at Sea Crest. The hotel is nice with clean and quiet rooms and the staff is friendly. The beach is a short walk out of the hotel area and sun beds and beach towels are provided. Breakfast is good.

Worth mentioning is that the location is remote and compared to other places on Zanzibar it's not many options for local decent priced restaurants, or places to buy local snacks or fruit. This is a location to go to a resort.

The few negative points is that food service is slow and portions small. Also warm water could be hoter and pressure and drainage better in the bathroom.
