A simple word can describe this place “Nightmare”. Me and my fiancee have been globetrotters for many years and have visited many countries, different standards but this is the worst place we ever visited. We would not return even if we got paid… But if you seeking for dirty rooms with bugs and heavy smell of mould, passing through an alley of suspicious backyards for reaching an unswimable beach, togheter with extremely roude mafia-style staff. In addition you will have the previlige to pay the same as European five-star Hotels.. Well, then is the place for you. Me and my fiancee had booked a 5 days staying but after the first night, we fled to another Hotel. Our visit on Zanzibar was lovely after we left this terrible place.

Booked here because it said it had AC which didn’t work and nobody was interested in helping. The local people in Zanzibar are so lovely except for here where the staff are rude and miserable. There are far better places to stay in the area with much better value for money. Stay clear if this awful place!

The place is very clean (the housekeeping nice ladies service every day), the guy from the beach is hard working and very pleasant (Mudy), the entire staff is very helpful and the lady owner is willing to help you with whatever you need. Never an owner been so kind and helpful like Poli. They have their private beach with a bar and restaurant. Breakfast is very good and the view is very nice. The sunrise is spectacular if you wake up before 7AM.

Bahati Villa is a great, intimate hotel in a nice and quiet part of Zanzibar, Kiwengwa. The room was nice and cozy and was cleaned daily. The hotel offers laundry service which is quick and really clean! The hotel also offers free parking and has ample space for cars. The views from their restaurant are breathtaking and the breakfast is very good, with fresh juices that are made fresh on the spot, several types of bread and cake and pancakes or eggs made to order. After breakfast you can continue with the Bahati Villa Cocktail which you should try at least once during your stay! The staff is very friendly and Gibson, Elisa, Alima, Harbu and Ilenia always welcome you with a smile and kind words! In the morning you wake up with the sound of the waves and the hotel has its own private spot on the beach with comfortable beach chairs and also has a beautiful garden! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Bahati Villa! Jermaine and Sarah

We arrived to a dirty room with numerous issues... On the bed there were a previous gest underwear, dirt and dust on the tables so are suitcases got dirty. The bathroom door was not able to close, so dont expect full privacy while using the bathroom... and last but not least we found many crawling BUGS on the bed sheets....... The staff speaks very little english which made communication difficult. Do yourself a favour and book some place else!!

This is a basic hotel with basic amenities as well. Rooms are clean and with A/C. Not so much to look for in the rooms but it's on the East Coast so you really can enjoy the beach with white sand. It is owned by an Italian woman so expect that the pizza here is great! In fact all food they serve is really good. For me a little expensive for the price of $50/night but I don't have any complaints on the food..

We're quite torn of what to say about our stay in Bahati villa. Yes the accommodation is basic but adequate in the price range. The restaurant outside is nicely furnished and an overall "vibe" is pleasant. Or it would be pleasant if you don't feel like the staff is constantly mocking you. The first day we arrived we ordered lunch and I noticed the waitress pointing fingers at us and joking with the chef (we heard big laughs from the kitchen with some finger pointing in our direction). At the same time the food was not that good so the joke is on them (we had Italian pasta and pizza, which were sub par to any Italian place we've ever been to). Same thing occured few times more (when we had coffee or during the breakfast which was by the way good and adequate) which made us uneasy so we decided not to eat or drink there anymore. The owner Sonia was nice and welcoming but we only had limited interaction with her. Not sure if I would recommend it as we didn't have the best experience.

Pina, the owner of the villa, since day one let me and my friends fell like at home. When we arrived at the villa, she warmly greeted us and since the beginning, she helped us to plan our stay in Kiwengwa and in the other places in Zanzibar that we wanted to visit. Every time we needed some help Pina was there to give us suggestions and help us to make the right choice. The staff was really friendly and smiley too. The property is really beautiful, surrounded by a magnificent vegetation and enrich with a colorful selection of flowers. The beach is located in front of the property, with a nice private space only reserved for the guests of bahati. if you will stop here you will have the chance to experience the real Zanzibar and meet genuine locals (Zanzibari and Masai) Overall a fantastic experience! definitely worth a stop!! thanks Pina Marco and friends

I am struggling to understand why they could not admit that I had left some property at the hotel. Either the maid kept it or they couldn't be bothered to send it on for me. It did not come with me. I identified where I left it but still clarification that they actually looked there.
