Travellers' Choice
The Sahari Zanzibar is an hotel directly on the beach, built inside a palmeto, full of tropical flowers, with a beautiful swimming pool, from which is possible to see the sea. The hotel rises next to the village of Bwejuu, in the east coast of Zanzibar, 50 km from Stone Town. An exclusive location is chosen, where the nature and the uncontaminated sea have the predominance. All 12 rooms are forehead sea and they allow to admire the marvelous colors that only the Indian Ocean knows how to give. The restaurant offers fresh fish and pizza every day and Italian, International, Indian, China and Japanese dishes. In the restaurant you can also find an ample selection of wines and cocktails as well as the italian coffee Espresso. The standard rich breakfast, always included in the price, composed by fresh fruit, juices, savory cakes, home made jams and eggs, to accompany to classical coffee or tea and milk. The Resort enjoys all of the comforts, the internet access is free and everywhere.

We booked 3 nights at Sahari but ended up staying 6 nights. Absolutely loved this place. Such a relaxing atmosphere. If you want to get lost in time this is definitely the place to stay. Friendly staff, nice rooms and extremly beautiful surroundings. The only minus is the beach - not the best place to swimm but that is out their hands and the pool makes up for this. We don’t remember the last time we were this relaxed after staying at Sahari.

many thanks for your stay with us, we appreciate very much, thanks also for your beautiful review, in this beach as in all of East Africa there are tides, they are not every day at the same time on some days the sea is missing the other is present all day, probably in just three days you have found low tide! anyway we thank you very much, and we hope to see you again soon! Best regards sahari staff

We booked 4 nights at Sahari and absolutely loved staying there. The room was perfect, very clean and comfortable. It had AC and all the amenities one needs for a perfect stay. The breakfast space is right on top of the beach while having views to the beautiful pool as well. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the staff is kind and helpful. Massage is also great! Special thank you to Riccardo and Giuseppe that helped out with anything we needed.

We spent 7 beautiful days in Sahari hotel. All that sounds of rustling palms and the roar of the waves in the distance makes this hotel ideal for writing a book or movie scenary. The stuff are friendly and servisable, food in restorant are tasty and delicious, smothies and coctails the same. Hotel is half hour walking from popular Paje beach. The tide is enormous here and it can be interesting and anoying at same time.

We spent a few days at the Sahari with a family of 4 in two double rooms. The hotel is a cosy, beautiful place right at the beach, tucked among other similar beachfront properties in the middle of a local village. The rooms were nice and clean, airconditioning worked perfectly, wifi was very good and reliable for Zanzibar standards. The place is child friendly and animal friendly, with pet cats roaming the grounds. The hotel restaurant is particularly nice, with great local and Italian dishes (the owner's Italian and a super nice guy), including oven-baked pizza. The staff speaks good English, is friendly and communicative. We had some minor issues but they were quickly solved, overall a very good stay!

Nice public areas with amazing WIFI throughout, the restaurant had panoramic views over the bay Lack of service for a four-star hotel, we had to get our own water as none was provided in the room upon arrival (apart from a menacing sign saying we'll be charged for bringing in external food/drinks) nice open public areas, but the rooms felt a little small. 'Sea view' was a bit of a joke, yes you could see the sea through the forest and past the main restaurant, but not from the room. Breakfast was terrible, yes we arrived at 9am for a 10am cut-off. Were served 3 fruit slices then saw in the corner a breakfast buffet ( I haven't seen a buffet since Covid happened) so were hesitant to say the least. Was less impressed by the empty trays that greeted us, empty eggs, empty beans, empty sausages, empty spinach. No bowels for the cereal. Made ourselves some instant coffee and grabbed all the remaining stale croissants there were, and sat down. Day 2: got 2x electric shocks off the toaster :( The pizza was good but said mozzarella on the menu, it’s not mozzarella... We were given 2x beach towel tokens at reception and informed to collect and return beach towels every day for cleaning. It seemed like the hotel doesn't have enough to go around and was rationing towels out to guests. The towels themselves were bleach stained and a little worse for wear. There's an abundance of cats around the hotel that also seem to live there so if you like cats great if you don’t or are allergic be warned! During our stay they were also carrying out some reservations or building an additional room above the bar area next to the pool so there was constant hammering, banging and construction noise throughout the day. Manager? Spent more time lounging around the bar/lounge/restaurant area in jeans chatting with his mates drinking wine. Choice of background music for restaurant/bar area: classical? jazz? Beach house music? No! Rap about pimps and hoes? Yes! Edit: they did manage to rectify the music choice during our stay by switching to Spotify (free version with ad breaks lol) Could be great but settled for mediocre

kind guest, thank you for your stay, I am amazed by your offenses in the final part, I hope we have misunderstood, if you did not appreciate our hotel we are very sorry thankfully that we are able to satisfy most of our customers, the 4 Dubai stars will never be comparable to that of Zanzibar are 2 different worlds, the beach towels were not stained but faded perhaps by the chlorine of the swimming pool or from the laundry, the breakfast buffet what do you wonder about? We have respected the rules of Zanzibar no restrictions in progress in fact I do not remember having seen you even once with the mask I am amazed at what you wrote! Zanzibar is an island where no lockdowns have been made and luckily it has always remained open, maybe you have come here for this too! The room you took and sea view not facing the sea in fact you saw it through nature the measures are 25 square meters! The manager is on vacation. Did you see the owner with jeans and was it a problem with the jeans or that he drank the wine? I think you exaggerated if you wanted another kind of music you could ask the staff would you be helped! We have enough beach towels to lend you sign because then you have to return them and if we do not do this they are lost and being in Africa there are not many shops where you can buy them again especially in this period where not many supplies arrive! Water is free for everyone! Fill your bottle at the dispenser to limit the use of plastic there is no disposal and we try to reduce the use of plastic bottles! Spotify will pay for it if the advertising has bothered you, even if in reality we have it already but it didn't work and we downloaded another one for music! It was a real pleasure to answer you and have you as our guest. Best regards

By far our best stay in Zanzibar and we have been in different hotels for the last two months. Great room with tv live football, great internet for Zanzibar, fridge and air con. The restaurant food is bloody great, my girlfriend is a foodie and we ate here most days. The owner is a great guy so welcoming and friendly.. the beach location is beautiful and a short walk to more life with Paje.. this is top of my list when we return.. if it’s available book it.... Before it goes haha...
