Love this hotel so much, it's located in a quite area near Nagasaki; The hotel has a great ocean view with lots of spaces for outdoor activities. It's definitely suitable for families or couples. Our room is located at a new building with a balcony facing the ocean, very nice large room with good facilities. The osen is good too....

The hotel is conveniently located. We stayed for 4 days 3 nights. Shimabara has many attractions which are clustered in the town, a short drive from the hotel. Unzen Mountain and onsen village are near. Nagasaki City is an hour drive. Kumamoto/Aso Mountain are across the bay and can be reached by ferry and car. Nagasaki City is also not...

We booked Hotel Nanpurou through Traveladvisor's booking system in May, a month prior the trip. The price was amazingly attractive (JPN43,200 for 4 persons, including one-night accommodation, 9-meal course dinner and breakfast). We travelled to Shimabara from Nagasaki City by local train (duration: 2 hours) Nagasaki to Isahaya, then Isahaya to Shimabara. The emperor of Japan used to stay at...

Be aware that there is a boring half hour walk to the castle and there are no appealing restaurants nearby. The room was oddly laid out--probably worked better with futons. Wifi was weak and heater/air conditioner alternated between blasting hot and cold air right on the sleeper. Good things: helpful staff, free shuttle to ferry, nice goat in petting zoo....

I did not stay over night at this hotel, but I took one-day Onsen with 1,000yen. The outside onsen ins faced to Ariake sea which is very nice. If you get up in the early morning, you can enjoy sunrise!! (I wish I could). The hotel's garden is very nice! Also, kids would love this as there is a small...

A huge hotel situated in a quiet town of Nagasaki Prefecture. Staying in this hotel gave us a chance to taste some of the best food I had ever tried in my whole life. The dinner was of amazing quality. High-grade beef and pork from Kyushu, very fresh sashimi, abalone plus the ultimate surprise (fugu - pufferfish sashimi). I felt...

Our party comprised 3 adults. We were given a spacious room comprising 2 single beds and futon/beddings for sleeping on the floor. The room comes with a raised tatami area which can be completely closed up with Japanese paper screen wall. The room is clean and quiet. The mattress is medium soft (scale: soft-medium soft-medium-medium hard-hard). The toilet, shower/bath and...

We stayed on a Friday night in August for the town's Water festival which ended up being canceled due to an incoming typhoon. We were greeted warmly by the staff and we were checked-in quite promptly by an English speaking staff member. Our twin room was quite spacious and was a mixture of modern and traditional Japanese style. The beds...

We went there in 2008, but I still have good memory's of the hotel. The service was suburb! Very nice 'onsen' (spa) with a beautiful view. The room was very nice and clean. The overal look was a bit old at the time (2008) but the website show they've renovated heavily; So I assume the old look is a thing...
