We stayed 1 night at Lizzie Villa and enjoyed our stay. The owner is friendly and the highlight are the lovely, well maintained garden and large verandah overlooking the same. Our room was adequate with hot water showers though some may find the beds a bit firm. The breakfast was very good with egg, toast, fruit and tea. The location...

We called ahead and got a double room for 3500LKR while Ella was full of tourists. Nice owner, clean room, good atmosphere! The place does not pay commissions to tuktuk drivers and keeps room rates down. Breakfast was ok with toast, butter, jam, good tea and some bananas.

We slept in a room in the house where a family lives, so every night the mother asked us at what time we'd come home :) At 10 o'clock we already had to knock cause they locked the door. Next to the house there's a nice small spice garden, the father gave us some avocados and chili peppers when we...

Myself and a group of other volunteers really enjoyed our 3 night stay here. The owner was very friendly and served us tea upon arrival and request. The rooms are very simple but bug nets were included which was convenient. It was nice how the guesthouse is a very short walk away from town, yet it was far off enough...

Good value for money, in a quiet place close the center of the town. Not super clean but acceptable for Sri Lankan standards. The one thing that bothered us was that you had to ring the door everytime you came back into the house. But the lady of the house was friendly and the town was nice.

Basic and no thrills - located back from the road - quiet guesthouse. Good location, but facilities are worn-down. Reasonable value for money. Owner gave us banana's for on the road (I thought that was weet)

After a really noisy first night in Ella we wanted to move away from the main road. At 8am this tucked-away place was still slumbering so we jumped at the chance of a room for the next night. It is pleasant though basic (not that basic for SL) and everything was there and worked (fan, mosq. net, towels, hot water)....

I was travelling by my own but was lucky to meet another traveller at Ella. We shared a room at Lizzie's. It was a very quiet house with a huge garden. Ella is kind of touristy in my opinion and Lizzie's location was just nice. It was located in a small lane and it was only 5 min walk to...

The best thing about this place is its location, it is close to the "city" but still peaceful and quiet. You can walk easily to have a drink at cafe chilli (which is the best restaurant I've tried in the country so far) The rooms are very simple, not really clean but ok for 1 or 2 nights. Ella is...
