A hotel only for adults. It’s refreshing, relaxing, only with a hint of talking from the guests. The meals are delicious and if you like, you can eat almost the whole day. But remember to use the wellness, the gym, all the other activities . The stuff is so friendly, the rooms are either like the country style or with the kind of „special eco friendly“. They climate in the newest rooms are perfect. you can choose between the wellness part with your swimsuit or the zone only naked with a lot of saunas and a rest area.

I stayed at the hotel for three nights to celebrate my 80th birthday, and to ride their beautiful horses. Flying from Spain was not a particularly nice journey, being two plane trips either way, but I can happily say that it was worth it. The hotel is beautiful and the Junior Suite I'd booked certainly lived up to expectations. It had everything I needed for my comfort, and more, plus a beautiful view from the balcony. The food was excellent and more than sufficient, with plenty of choices at every meal and was well prepared and served. Having said all that I have to end by saying that what made the trip (and my birthday) extra special for me was the staff. Every member of staff, from reception to stable staff was without fail attentive, kind and helpful and always made the extra effort.

Adult-only spa. Let me repeat: Adult. Only. Spa. It was so wondrous to be surrounding my lush settings, various pools, soft robes ... and quiet. No cell phones ringing. No screaming, splashing kids. Hushed speaking. This is a resort of impeccable taste surrounded by the magnificent Alps. There are so many things to do here - ride horses, play golf, hike or bike around the lake, read a book. And did I mention those pools? Indoor, outdoor, warm, hot, cool, cold, whirling, still, steamy. The resort has all sorts of nooks and crannies into which you can escape and read a newspaper. The staff was exemplary. You'd be hard-pressed to hear a "No" come from one of the crew. Valentina was so helpful getting us appointments at the spa, procuring a requested fan, patiently explaining what was covered in our package. The food was outstanding, whether lunch at the Bistro in our robes or at dinner. The only negative experience we had is that we cannot afford to live here full-time.

This hotel is just something else! The vibe of the place is as if you are in a fairytale in which there is a special wellness area. First of all, our rooms were big, luxurious, and comfortable. I slept amazingly and the bed was really comfortable. We had the view of the mountains which was especially nice to wake up to! And the bathrooms were out of this world - so stunning! We also loved the spa and wellness area! There are so many pools, saunas, and relaxation areas. I especially loved the outdoor pools for again the majestic view of the mountains (covered in snow during our stay). There were so many different options to choose from, and areas to explore. On top of that, there is a daily program of activities like yoga, meditation, etc. that you can join. There is also a well-equipped gym. I feel like you need at least a week to enjoy everything this place has to offer. The outdoor facilities are just as beautiful. Lipizzan horses are stunning, and you can visit them in the stables, or book a ride. There is also a carriage which you can book. I think that the pictures show enough, but the mountains surrounding the hotel are so much more breathtaking in real life! The food was also really good. I especially loved the juice "room" in which you can make your own freshly squeezed juices. There was a good mix of healthy food as well as traditional dishes. In the evening, there is a great choice of cocktails in the bar. Stuff was, also, lovely and welcoming! They made our stay warm and comfortable ♥. All in all, we absolutely enjoyed our stay and would love to come back!

We totally enjoyed our stay in this awesome hotel. The wellness and pool areas are outstanding. I loved the tasteful decoration everywhere. Lots of scented candles are lit, even in the garage! Food was nicely presented and yummy. The TCM cuisine didn’t meet my expectations though (too sophisticated, not enough Chinese ingredients). Friendly and competent staff is rare in these times - kudos to Posthotel employees who absolutely deserve a 5 star rating.

Let me start by saying that the Posthotel is in a class of its own. It's a great hotel, with superb facilities and (mostly) fantastic staff. It's not on the lake, but this limitation is quickly forgotten thanks to multiple saunas and pools. I've spent a week, but I would have stayed much longer and I will definitely be back. Having said that, and keeping in mind the price level of the hotel, there are a few elements that should be addressed. The food is really good, but every night they made an Italian dish (pasta or risotto) that was invariably inedible. It's better not to attempt cooking things that you do not know how to cook, especially as the rest of the food was high quality. The least impressive aspect of the holiday were the activities, mainly because the person in charge always spoke in German and hardly made any attempt to translate and involve English speaking clients, which is not acceptable for an international hotel. Plus, one day they gave me a faulty mountain e-bike, that ruined my excursion. And they did not even offer a discount on the bike rental. Last, but not least, they not accept American Express cards, which is annoying considering the class of the hotel and that the average stay easily gets to the thousands of Euros. Still, we are talking about an amazing place.

Dear guest, thank you very much for the good rating and for your effort. You took a lot of time to tell us about your vacation. That is very valuable to us. We are glad that you liked the spa and would have liked to have stayed longer with us. We're sorry you didn't like the pasta, but it's good to know that you enjoyed everything else. To a very large part, we have German-speaking guests, so our coach probably didn't have the self-confidence to speak English. We will discuss it. We would like to apologize for the bike rental, we will make it up to you next time. We are pleased that you would like to visit us again soon and wish you all the best until then! Best regards The Reiter family and the Posthotel Achenkirch team

I had booked a wellness hotel for 4 nights in Ellmau, Austria. Upon arriving, I was really disappointed in the hotel. Even though my reservation was non-refundable, I decided it was more important to enjoy my last few days of my trip than worry about the money. I had been to Posthotel several years ago and decided to go there. It was nice last time, but it was more special this time. They have remodeled portions of the hotel and rooms and it was very nice. I had a really nice room in the main building -- it was beautiful -- and had a nice sized balcony looking out to the church on the hill. If you are booking this type of hotel because you want to take advantage of the wellness area, Posthotel has one of the best that I've been to. Lots of different spas, saunas, pools, etc. I also liked that their nude area wasn't the entire wellness area like some of these hotels. Their spa is also very nice. I've had several treatments there and they have all been good. When I was there last time I thought the food was only average and I'd probably rate it the same this time. It was fine -- just not spectacular. But I do really like this hotel. I plan to retire sometime this next year and think I will celebrate my retirement by returning here to relax and begin that next part of my life. It will be a great way to reward myself for many years of hard work.
