Our luxury catered ski chalet Saskia has consistently been the most popular choice amongst our guests since it was built in 2000. Thanks to the combination of its picture-postcard location on the south facing, sundrenched slopes of Vaujany and its smart and stylish interior, it has become the our flagship. Chalet hosts Marcus and Rosa have built up a loyal following amongst our regulars over the years for their impeccable service, their knowledge of the area and above all Marcus's superlative cuisine. The unique mirror-image design of the chalet allows it to be used as a whole, taking advantage of all ten fully en-suite bedrooms. Alternatively, the chalet can be divided for smaller groups into two separate halves, each with their own lounge and dining areas sharing only the entrance hall plus the TV and games room. It can also be booked on a room by room basis.

We are a big group of 5 families. The chalet suited our needs perfectly, with the bedrooms and social areas all being great sizes. All of the bedrooms have an en suite and comfy beds. The kitchen was well equipped and made it easy for us to make our meals. Chalet Saskia is close to the Telecabin, just a 5 minute walk. We made good use of the hot tub, with its stunning views, as well as the sauna and downstairs games room. A big thank you to our chalet staff, they were super helpful and lovely to chat to.

Truth is we had the best of both ! I took my daughter to get her reacquainted with skiing after a break of nearly 20 years. I had been to Vaujany in 2013 when the Ski Peak owners had a hotel which, though modest, had wonderful cuisine. As Alpe d’Huez has lots of great runs (and gentle wide pistes for us ‘motorway skiers’) I got in touch with Jamie at Ski Peak and booked a couple of rooms at Chalet Saskia for a week. We flew to Grenoble and Ski Peak gave me contacts to book a bus from the airport. Just over an hour and the lovely Roxie picked us up to do the last five miles or so. The chalet has 10 bedrooms and can accommodate 25 or so. Great rooms with super views, all en suite, comfortable and spacious. It’s divided into two wings so we had one to ourselves while a party of 13 occupied the other. They and we had our own living/dining rooms with log burner and direct service from the kitchen. What was it like? The best description is to imagine some friends offered to let you use their house; ‘just come and go as you please’ and ‘our people will look after you......’. They did! Their new chef Matthew will get a Michelin star one day. The evening meals were a two (plus!) hour delight of the most enterprising cuisine, carefully chosen wines, a little explanation by Matt of what we were eating and how it was prepared. Served by Grace, Charlie, Kirsty and with appearances by Mikey, it was like being with friends for the evening. Being able to stream your own music was handy too. Incidentally breakfasts weren’t too shabby either with Matt happy to cook very interesting and different plates. His ‘full English’ was superb (Matt is part Greek, part Lancashire so he has the right genes!). And afternoon tea and cakes by the way.......! Roxie took us to see the ski hire guys. Very sensible prices and (though a busy Saturday) there was a special queue for Ski Peak customers..........! The main gondola is only a couple of hundred yards but no humping up steps required . Vaujany is fully equipped with lifts and escalators. All in all a great week. Three days of full sun. One day of blizzard when we just ‘slobbed out’ in the chalet. Definitely going back! Thanks again to Roxie for looking after admin and taking us back to the bus. Fabulous holiday and so easy to sort out odd details with the office in the UK. Utterly personal service.

Chalet Saskia is superbly situated for access to the main cablecar and lift station as well as the centre of Vaujany. The cuisine is amazing, the rooms are so comfortable, the hot tub is great (and the sauna too) and the whole stay was perfect. All the chalet staff were helpful and it was a brilliant week.

We booked a ski week here with my Sister and Brother In Law, after reading all the great reviews, so we were expecting a Gourmet week before we even arrived, but we have to say that even with the reviews, the actual dining is far better than we could have anticipated. Apart from the Chalet night off and Curry night, we had a Seven Course experiance every night, and it was beatufully presented with Fabulous paired Wines. The courses were measured and therefore, we all finished every course every night without being over faced. The wine was free flowing, and the staff were superb all week. Without doubt, after 25 years of ski chalets, this is the best food we have ever had in a Chalet or Hotel, and I would suggest that eating out to this standard every night, would have cost us as much for the food and it did for our holiday at Saskia. Of course, as with any chalet holiday, the group you are with can make or break a week, the chalet has two wings, which effectively run as two chalets, ours had 5 rooms, so we shared the week with 3 other Couples, and luckily we all got on great, worth checking with Ski Peak on the mix of bookings for the week before you book. Our room was a 3 bed room in the loft, which was spacious and had a bath, I think this was probably the largest room in the chalet, so we were pretty happy with it, although I suspect other rooms were a bit simpler (shower only) and smaller. The rooms are to a good standard, although perhaps out of balance with the level of cuisine served at the chalet, however as you never spend a lot of time in the room, and because the chalet had a spacious lounge, it didn't really figure in our Score overall. Downstairs in the basement is a games room which was well equippped, and next door a Sauna with access to the Hot Tub, neither of which we used, but others did and seemed to enjoy it. Vajauny is a quiet resort, so dont expect lots of Apres, however the two main lifts are a close walk (4 mins) to Saskia, and within a couple of lifts you can enjoy all the runs of Alpe D'huez as well as the more local Vajauny runs. There is a heated boot room at Saskia, and they also have a boot room by the lifts which we used all week to our benefit, although the boot heaters werent working during our stay. All in all, we would highly recommend a stay, particularly if youre a foodie, Marcus the chef and the chalet staff are first class, it would suit families or groups of food loving adults more than party crowds

It is not an over statement to say that Marcus Cull is Chalet Saskia. This genius treats you to canapés, entree, main, amuse bouche, cheese course and dessert for 5 nights, which would have a place at a Michelin star restaurant. All delivered in a modest and understated fashion. There is one curry night and one staff night off. The rest of the staff - Roxy, Michael, Freya and Ffion were great hosts. The chalet is comfortable and we occupied one half giving us our own generous living area to hang out in. A memorable ski holiday was had... thank you!

Chalet Saskia is a lovely property in the little village of Vaujany with stunning views and impeccable, attentive service. We spent a week there in February and had a marvelous time. In hindsight, I'm not sure what the point of our trip was; skiing in some of the best snow Alpe D'Huez has seen in 30 years or eating the glorious, sinfully delicious and beautifully presented 7, 8, 9 course meals every night. I would only point out that the Chalet itself has identical "wings" that can be used by different two groups, and neither are entirely private; you will share stairwells, the hot tub and rec room, and each side's dining/lounge area is connected by a shared hallway with glass swinging doors. But Chalet Saskia is a remarkable place to spend a special, high-class holiday!

We stayed at Chalet Saskia with Ski Peak for a week at the beginning of September. By we I mean 25 spritely cycling gentlemen. After a challenging day of riding around the picture perfect alps, returning to Saskia is a textbook way to recover. A dip in the hot tub, a sweat in the sauna, an intense game of table tennis, before dinner and drinks in highly comfortable lounges. The beds are extremely comfortable and the cotton thread of the sheets must be in the thousands. The quality of Saskia is so high, that I often wondered over a glass of local rose whether the stunning glacial waterfall had been installed by Ski Peak as an elaborate water feature. I would not be surprised. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ski Peak for a summer or winter stay and I look forward to return to the cute as a button Vaujany in the near future. Chapeau!

Stayed in the summer for access to some wonderful hiking and cycling in the Alps. There is a cycle rental nearby which I was able to rent road bikes from and tackle Alpe D'Huez. Next year I hope to revisit and partake in the Triathlon Alpe d'Huez. The food was incredible and the chef, Marcus, is a genius in the kitchen - the banana bread is to die for. I can't stress enough how much you will enjoy the food. The catering and service staff are friendly and genuinely care about the happiness of everyone's stay. Wonderful place, wonderful stay and I couldn't have been any happier.
