Our first family holiday in 4 and a half years and they made it AMAZING! So chilled out, friendly, attentive and caring they helped us out with tourist attractions and excursions.

There was a daily turnover with the rooms so clean bedding and towels basically everyday!

Music by the pool but not too loud at all, a very comfortable stay and we wish we could thank them enough!

Maria, Stavros and Iro were amazing attentive and so informative they taught us greek language and we spent so much time at the bar on site eating, trying new food/learning recipes and just having a beautifully friendly chat with the staff.

Would recommend 100 percent for families with older children and adults or couples.

Perfectly placed by restaurants and a short walk to night life
Thank you again guys!
Efcharistó!

Just returned from a week's break & I was more than pleased with my stay
.This is a family run business along with a dedicated team of staff. Everyone was really friendly & professional, they couldnt be more than happy to help you. I did ask to change rooms for a better view of the mountains, which wasn't an issue, along with extending my check out time due to a late pick up time back to the airport. The views of the landscape & hidden restaurant's/bars in the old town make this place really great. It's a short walk to the main strip but not close enough to be disturbed, so this is fine. The beech is a little further away but theres plenty of places to stop and have a quick refreshments along the way so this is also fine. The hotel is clean & tidy. The pool bar food/drinks are great & not expensive.
There is however charges for WiFi in the room (WiFi at the pool is free),Safe box & air conditioning in the rooms, but I didn't mind at all, as for me the more Important points of the holiday where met.
I would recommend this hotel as you can relax in piece, at the time of my stay there wasnt many people at all, so it was so chilled & quiet. Of course this would get busier further into the season.

Great team effort guys, keep up the good work & I wish you all the success.

Great Hotel run by Lovely people. Far enough away from the madness equally a short walk and you are on the main strip. The restaurants in the old town are all fabulous take your pick. Special mention to all at the Kaza bar for all you brits needing just a small reminder of home.

Me and a friend visited here in the Summer for a girls holiday. We arrived early hours of the morning and someone was there to let us in. The reception was very makeshift to say the least. We got into the room which was absolutely boiling hot to then find you had to pay extra for air con!! Which was not stated on booking.com. It was overpriced and in this day and age air con is a necessity especially in 30+ heat.
The room was clean and relatively modern. A bottle of very strong alcohol was left for us on arrival which was a bonus. There was also a bowl of fruit which was nice. Water is available to buy at the bar but any shop is quite a long walk away so would strongly recommend stocking up on water especially for the nights.
Music was on until early hours of the morning by other travellers however this didn't bother us much as we were up anyway. Was in walking distance of the 'strip' but you should 100% not walk to this hotel alone as it is in the back streets of Malia and was scary especially at night.
Staff were very friendly and helpful but one of them was a heavy smoker always smoking around where the food was cooked and drinks prepared.
The pool was nice and had sunbeds all around and in a separate garden which needed a bit of TLC as you were surrounded by over grown grass whilst sunbathing.
Food was available to buy at the hotel but was your bog standard burger and chips.
Would recommend for groups of friends but certainly not families or couples.

Me and the wife had a week at the Bella Elena in mid August this year. We last stayed here about 3 years ago, the room was nice and clean, I think cleaners come in every other day so all good. The bar and pool area is great for sunbathing and chilling, although we did go to the beach most days, had a dip in the pool to cool off on way back on an evening.
The walk to the beach is around 20/25 mins steady walking through the old village. there are plenty of Tevernas and places to eat in the Old Village so have an explore, or the main Strip and clubs/bars are only 10/15 mins walk away.

I would recommend Toto Lotto in the Old town to eat, and also try Connections Bar for a drink, its only 2 mins from hotel and its a lovely old place! if you walk left out of the hotel and straight down until you pass the first restaurant on the left, you come to a little T junction and the bar is through a arched wooden door on the left.

All the Staff were great, very friendly and make you feel welcome. We will be back for sure!

Stayed for one week in July 2017. We arrived at 01:10 and had a little walk up the road. We were greeted by Manos whom explained everything and gave us complimentary drinks on our arrival. We were shown our room that was nice and comfortable. The pool and bar area are lovely. What made it great for us were all the staff - the daytime to name a few Maria, Sharon and Paul the chef and in the evening Manos, Tam and Terri. Great holiday and would definately go back.

Horrible, only word you can use. Booked this as a cheap get away knowing it would be wild and lively. firstly get there and met nikos the desperate bar man that begs u to buy drinks from his over priced bar, although his family is lovely, it doesnt mean we have to buy drinks. The first few days were ok, but the room hadnt been cleaned yet then on tuesday the transfer day we get woken up at 6am to blaring music banging and shouting, yet there are signs warning people that noise past 11pm means they will be evicted. but nothing was ever carried through, so the next day we asked the manager to move rooms to the newer block as its less noisey up there but she said it was full and she couldnt do nothing. so we told the rep, and her answer was yes it is very noisey.. just get drunk! Very good after sales service. so a few days later we didnt want to go out because we had a heavy night the night before we decided to clean the room as it had been cleaned once in the 10 days we had been there. and that was when we saw the cockroachs, so we get the security BOY to come and sort them out, so he pulled the fridge out and saw spiders, earwigs, beatles all crawl out so we went to a nearby hotel to stay the night as it was disguisting. then the following morning went to the manager to tell her what had happened and she was about as helpful as a brick wall. told us to go to her office which looked like a drug den and offered us a room in the new block which now they had space, we didnt take it and decided to stay in the other hotel at our cost as it was a lot nicer, cleaner. HONESTLY. DO NOT STAY HERE. IT IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE

I visited Bella Elena in Septemeber 2011 and stayed for the last week of the season. As a recent graduate with a teeny budget I got a fab last minute deal so wasnt expecting much, just happy to have a week of sun for under 300 quid!
The hotel is located a little off the beaten track but the 10 min walk to town every day was my cardio for the week so no complaints from me! Plus you get to see the locals, visit some traditional shops and try out the quieter resturants and cafes.
On arriving at the hotel after our day of travelling it was awesome to see such a bustling bar and pool area. We were given our room key , handed over our passports and shown to our room.
Ok so the rooms arent exactly luxury but they have everything you need: comfy beds, large wardrobe, basic kitchen, decent bathroom and a balcony (where if your very lucky you'll get a cheeky southerner taking a nap after a heavy night :P) TV, safe and Air Con are extra but i didnt get any...just leave your patio doors open! Plus this also means you can introduce yourselves to fellow guests.
The staff are really friendly, from the cleaners to the legendary bar owner Nikos! He's either giving you a deadly cocktail, smoking or telling you all about the area. The food at the bar is good too, i recommend the BBQ for not only the meal but a chance to have a laugh and make new friends.
The pool area is lush with plenty of spaces to chill and a great soundtrack to laze the days away.
I went to Malia with my Mum for a fun cheap holiday and while her standards may have been a tad higher than mine she enjoyed her holiday too.
Bella Elena is a really social place and you'll end up making friends with most people, i mean hell your in Malia so your evidently here for a reason.
Bella Elena is perfect for budget accommodation and for those wanting to try out the nightlife but not hit it too hard!

TOP TIP: The resturant nearest the hotel is lush plus you have to try the 2 euro pizza slices from the place across from the bakery...you'll find it ;)

I think we paid 50 euros for both the safety deposit box and the Air Conditioning for a week. You get a discount if you take both.
