The friendliest hotel I’ve visited. Everyone is so welcoming and make you feel special I visited with my parents as took them on holiday for 70th birthdays. They loved their stay. It’s a peaceful resort as you are up on the hill, no scramble for a pool lounger, plenty of space and easy to get a cold beer! If you want somewhere where you can get some peace this is the perfect place. I can’t thank the team enough for our amazing stay

We wanted a relaxed and laid back holiday and Royal Heights absolutely delivered. The location is fantastic - panoramic views of the town and really peaceful. The staff were wonderful. Athena and Maria at the front desk were warm, friendly and really helpful. The rest of the staff from housekeeping to the restaurant and bar staff were all really friendly and lovely to interact with. The hotel was very accomodating to my wife's dietary needs and really made us feel looked after. We had booked one of the villas with a private pool and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is coming with children. Our kids loved having their own private pool and we pretty much spent each day there. The villa itself was really clean and the resort is of a very high standard. The town is an approx 15 min walk downhill and there are a number of local restaurants to choose from which I am sure everyone would enjoy. On the way back to the hotel a taxi is definitely recommended😃. All in all this has been a fantastic stay and we will take back fond memories of our stay. If you are looking to stay in the region I would suggest Royal Heights as your number one choice. …

The staff were very kind and respectful, the food was amazing and I made friends with the staff. There was our own pool, there is places to go out to nearby but I'd advise you to see if you're willing to walk down a hill or get a taxi. For sure get a taxi on the way up. It was very clean and tidy, there's no washing machine sadly but there's everything else you'll need to cook (apart from food). There's also a supermarket nearby aswell to shop.

RHR is a great hotel with especially fantastic views. We stayed in the one of the cliff top villas (room 402) and the pool was kept clean, grass neat and any staff were lovely. We visited the gym every day (except Sunday because it’s closed on Sundays) and there was plenty of space with many different machines. The walk into Malia was about 20mins. It was a nice way to see the rustic outskirts. I recommend the old town because there are lots of small and traditional restaurants. A tip for staying in the villas is that the door locks when closed so make sure you keep a key on you at all times. We managed to lock ourselves out 😂! Luckily the kind staff were happy to help and used the spare key to let us back in.

Quiet place just about 1 mile away from Malia strip. Nice walk down but need a taxi on the way back due to incline (as menationed by others). Excellent staff and special thanks to Dimitrius who could not do enough for us.

This is a must stay hotel. The location offers stunning views over Malia. The facilities are 5 star. If you are looking for a quiet getaway this is the place. The pool and surrounding area is well maintained with an ambutance of space and plenty of sunbeds..no rushing from breakfast to claim your sunbed for the day. The staff and customer service take the hotel to another level - exceptional. Athena, the hotel receptionist, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We can't thank her enough. Maria was also very helpful when we needed help..nothing was ever a bother. Dimmitto, in the restaurant, always greeted us with a smile, ensuring breakfast was an enjoyable experience. Last but not least, Dimmas was friendly, with an engaging personality. A great person to know. The owners should be proud that they are represented by such exceptional staff. The accommodation is good, the bar/restaurant staff are amazing. Unfortunately the spa staff (Mr Nikos I believe his name is) is one of the rudest people I have met. Disgraceful way to treat paying customers at the hotel. Clapped his hands at me and started shouting at me for looking through an open door when looking for the changing rooms, then started shouting at my wife for saying we were guests. Not sure what his rage was for, it was only doors to the sauna through that door. The changing room facilities/showers at the spa are also a disgrace and badly kept. No shower gel or shampoo in dispensers and no holder for shower head. Door locks were broken and wood around door frame rotting away. Nothing in place at hotel for late check out or ability to shower somewhere which is why we ended up down in the spa to shower and change. Wouldn’t put me off coming to Crete again as the people around the island, the cusine and history are amazing. Will pick a different hotel next time for sure.…

What a perfect resort… we absolutely loved staying here. It was the end of the season, so quiet but the attention to detail was still perfect. The staff are so helpful and friendly, the food was great, the views are incredible and the weather was amazing. We fell in love with Crete during our visit and we would highly recommend RHR. We walked into Malia a number of times, and got a short taxi ride back - the restaurants in the Old Town and the beach were fantastic. A great hotel, we will be back!

The staff at the Royal Heights Resort make this place truly 5 star and beyond. Athina at reception is not only efficient but went above and beyond. I was so well looked after by Athina she gave me her number and told me to contact her if I needed even out of hours. Not only that she ensured I was safe and checked in on me when I was out and offered to book taxis knowing I was a solo traveler (my first solo trip). She was so kind and caring and I could not fault her service she really is one of a kind. I’ve never experienced such customer service and I’ve travelled a lot. George Elena and Giannis at the bar and both the chefs (can’t spell their names) at the bar and breakfast time kept me entertained each morning and evening with drinks Gianni’s cocktails are the best I've tasted. Exceptional service from all. I couldn't have asked or expected more. Honestly this is the place to stay in Crete. People are warm friendly and go above and beyond. Love, love love the place and the people. Hotel has all the facilities you would need and the views are just beautiful from anywhere within the grounds. I booked a Swedish massage from Lydia and it was the most relaxing experience and well worth doing. I extended it to an hour and l'm so glad I did. Thank you to the team you made my solo trip and I never felt alone :-) …

Royal Heights resort is placed up in the hills with a perfect view over the village Malia. The staff is very friendly and helpful and you feel always welcome. The sunsets seen from the dinner table in the evening is breathtaking and if you are up for romance it’s a perfect setting. Me and my girlfriend appreciated the walks to the village in the morning and for tired legs in the evening it was easy to take a taxi back. Royal Heights resort has a nice and tasty dinner menu with lots to choose from. For lazy days the swimming pool area is perfect and you can order drinks and small dishes. We already miss the wonderful atmosphere the resort provides and the beautiful staff that makes you wanna come back:)
