#24 of 102 Speciality lodging in Malia
Pyrgos Beach Apartments are in a peaceful and quite place in the East side of Malia. The apts are beside the sea and between two graphic old churches Jesus Christ church and St. Spirit church. The distance from the beach road, that is full of shops, bars and restaurants, is about 10 minutes walking. The beach in front of the apartments has his own wild beauty, there is a nature small lake made by rocks. On the right side of the hotel about 20m there is Sandy Beach named Pyrgos Beach. Including the facilities of the hotel there are a parking place, a pool with a pool bar, sun terraces with sun loungers and parasols, satellite TV and guest’s PC. The pool bar is open every day and you can find there a variety of snacks, salads, drinks and cocktails. The building’s shape is U that’s why the apartments have view in three sides East, West, and North. In the North is the sea, in the North-East is the graphic old church St. Spirit and Malia port and in the North-West is the bay of Malia with the Jesus Christ church. There are 31 apartments and studios all of them surrounded by garden. The studios are about 25 m2, for 1, 2 or 3 persons and the apartments are about 40 m2, for 2, 3 or 4 persons. Every room has his own kitchenette with 2 cooking rings, fridge and kettle, air-conditioning, safe box, bathroom and balcony or terrace.

Shower was the smallest I have EVER been in. No spa. Jacuzzi was attached to pool therefore not heated. Beach was coral therefore I would imagine very difficult to enter. I guess it would suit the person who only wants to sit at the pool.

Pyrgos Blue Apartments. Just love this place. Lovely people, lovely rooms. Beautiful gardens and pool. Next to the sea, quite location but within walking distance to restaurants and bars. Third year here and hopefully will be back next year. Little bit of paradise. x

5 minute walk to the strip but none of the 18-30s hustle and bustle. Rooms were nice, basic but just what you need my only complaint was the shower as we couldn’t figure it out and it was broken so you had to hold it above your head but as a group of 19 year old girls we didn’t really mind. The food at the hotel is so good and I’d recommend the bacon and cheese on toast! Such a stunning view from our window the beach is amazing and just a short walk down there’s things like jet ski’s and that kind of water sports. Staff were so lovely and helpful. Felt very safe walking around there at night and the night guard was nice too. The extra effort they’ve made with cushioned loungers and hammocks was one of my favourite touches. Never any problems with longers as there was plenty. Definitely a young vibe round the pool but you could happily take a family here. Overall what a beautiful hotel and in an absolute Amazing location if you still want all the fun of the strip but the relaxing lounge about days. We had the best time ever in Malia I’d recommend it to anyone!

What a surprise Pyrgos Apartments turned out to be. Although they are only a couple of streets away from the well known hustle and bustle of Malia, the moment you enter the complex there is a wonderful feeling of calm and quiet. The rooms are large and comfortable, with adequate kitchen equipment and cupboard space to enable you to cook and store your food. We did all our own catering and found the supermarket just as good as the UK for all your requirements. The beds are so comfortable and being elderly and well travelled we usually wake up with backache but not so here! But "le piece de resistance" (the absolute prize!) is the magnificent view if you have one of the sea facing apartments, we were on an upper floor so were privileged to have a panoramic sea view....so special just to sit and relax and well....more than perfect for the soul. I can't recommend these apartments more highly. Tracey was on duty on our arrival and it was evident from her warm welcome that it was a strong sign of what was going to await us staying at this quiet, beautiful, peaceful, complex. Their taverna has a varied menu with very competitive prices. There is not a doubt in our mind that we will be returning next year and once we retire.....more than once a year! Thank you Pyrgos for our wonderful stay!!
