Apollonion palace hotel is housed in a historic 19th century neoclassical building, completely renovated in 2009 and fully restored to its original architectural form. Built in five levels, its foundations touch the sea. It overlooks the bay of Ag. Nicholas in the "Vaporia", area while its main entrance is right on the prestigious Apollonos Street. It is located a few steps from the imposing Church of St. Nicholas, the patron saint of Hermoupolis, the Apollo Theater and the Hermoupolis Town-Hall, a famous work of Ziller. During the last century it served as a home of prominent Syrians, while in 1996 it was bought by M.N. Captain Emmanuel Halaris, owner of "Halaris Hotels S.A.", Who spared no labour and cost to give Ermoupolis this unique 5-star hotel, which was missing from the island. The building's aesthetic is based on Hermoupolis' neoclassical flair. The magnificent terrace on the east side of the building, ideal for weddings, receptions, a glass of ouzo and musings in the moonlight, and the smaller terrace with access to the sea for swimming, offer a feeling of total relaxation.

Beautiful hotel, exceptionally clean, attention to every little detail. Very quiet and comfortable in a great location close to restaurants, shops and nightclubs. I will stay here again and highly recommend it. Spyros and his wife are fabulous hosts

An amazing stay! The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. More than anything the views were incredible. The building has great access to the ocean and is just a few minutes away on foot from the port.

We booked a 2 week stay, for the third straight year. The Appolonion Palace is in an ideal location, a few minutes' walk from town. The rooms are opulent and the beds extremely comfortable. Each room has individual climate controlled air conditioning and plenty of hot water. The hotel provides a nice breakfast on request for a small fee as well as drinks and snacks that can be enjoyed on a roof top patio or on a lovely terrance with steps leading to a turquoise blue private swimming area. The facilities are incredible, but what sets this hotel apart from others is the dedication and friendliness of the staff. We love that there is someone at the front desk 24 hours a day, and that they are always available to assist with whatever requests we have and also provide many suggestions for an enjoyable stay on Syros. At various times this has included restaurant bookings, beach chair reservations at various other beaches, taxi and boat tours. A few nights ago the taxis were very busy and after our meal, the restaurant could not find a taxi for us. We called the hotel and within 15 minutes they found a taxi who picked us up and brought us to the hotel. From the moment we arrive until we leave, the experience is 5 star, and that level of service is usually found at hotels that cost several hundred more Euros per night. We look forward to coming back next year and are very greatful that Mr Spyros and his team will be here to welcome us!

On Booking.com we were looking for a luxury hotel near the port of Syros. There we found it! A 5-star boutique hotel with outstanding reviews. We decided to contact them directly and made the booking. The way we were welcomed was very friendly. The receptionist showed us our room #303, a Deluxe Double Room. We paid €185 instead of €202 through Booking, room only. The room was located on the ground floor next to the reception, facing the street side. People were walking by, able to peek into our room from an ample 50cm distance. No privacy unless you close the curtains. We were told the room includes two conjoined single beds without any space between them. In real life however it were two singles low uncomfortable beds standing apart from each other. The room had airconditioning however the device was quite old and made quite a lot of noise. The bathroom was very outdated and old fashioned and should be renovated immediately. The towel ring had been shabbily repaired with tape. There is no proper space to store your toiletries. Breakfast is at the roof terrace and the view is absolutely beautiful. The very poor €12,50 breakfast however again is not the 5 star you would expect. Fresh orange juice was a good start, but we had to wait for over 30 minutes for the eggs. During that time the few slices of bread were old and dry already. We had to ask for jam and cheese, which wasn’t fresh and didn’t look tasty at all. No croissants, no fresh fruit, no yoghurt, nothing at all. After checkout we were asked to pay €17,50 for breakfast instead of €12,50, because they thought we ordered all kinds of extras… Apparently we missed the breakfast in its original way. Whilst checking out we just gave the advice of renovating the rooms. Unfortunately the owner couldn’t appreciate our feedback at all and just said an old building cannot be changed. We understand that: obviously it’s a 200 year old building, but when making a reservation for an expensive 5 star hotel we really don’t expect outdated comfort. This absolutely can be improved without losing the ancient character. The only thing worth 5 stars is the fabulous view at the roof terrace. But is it worth a €185? No.

My friend and spent a wonderful week at the Apollonion. It is a beautiful old place that has been lovingly restored by the family who runs it. It is right on the water yet very close to excellent restaurants and fun shops. You can swim right off the back of the hotel and there is a quiet patio on which to relax by the water. I've never had better advice from a concierge on where to go and what to do. We had a fabulous time thanks to them! Breakfast is very flexible and delicious. I highly recommend a stay here!

This is a beautifully run family accommodation in a stunning location. Our room was huge with high ceilings and terrific bathroom. Air conditioning worked very well. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, Sprios and all the family and staff looked after us superbly. The outdoor area on the ocean side is a real bonus. Relaxing on the sunloungers and swimming in the crystal clear Aegean Sea was just so relaxing and refreshing. On the first floor is the wonderful balcony and breakfast room. We found this area, perfect to sit with a cool drink and take in the view and the sunset. Do yourself a favour and stay here.

The place to stay in Syros. I loved the hotel , spotless clean, excellent location, but the most important is the people who run the hotel. So polite, so helpful, I am looking forward to return back there for Easter holidays. EXCELLENT 👌

We spent 3 days on the island of Syros..A cousin recommended we stay at the Apollonian Palace. We had an amazing experience. The hotel is an historic building dating from the 19th century. It has been completely renovated, yet still holds it original charm. There are marble floors, high ceilings and large windows. Our room had hardwood floors, a large four poster bed, charming chandelier and a lovely updated marble bathroom. There was a large TV and easy access to WI-Fi. The two huge windows opened up to breathtaking views of the sea, and there was comfortable seating. Breakfast can be ordered and served in the rooftop garden.. Our host, and owner, Spiro was gracious and treated us with warm hospitality….The entire staff was friendly and helpful. This hotel is also very close to the seaport, where several outdoor cafes, shops and restaurants are open and serving a variety of delicious foods… We will never forget our time here.

What can I say. I was looking for a small, charming boutique hotel that stands apart from the massive, commercial hotels that abound everyone. Somewhere where there are no conventions, a line of guests waiting for the reception clerk, where every guest is just a customer to a large enterprise. Little did I expect to make a dream come true. The Apollonion Palace's location is second to none. In the city center yet on the seaside. The rooms have panoramic sea views with a staircase leading to the sea for a refreshing dip in the crystal clear water. Breakfast is served on the roof where you can sit and enjoy the breathtaking view of the Aegean Sea. White tablecloth and all! If you were a guest at the most luxurious private villa of some fabulously wealthy person , you couldn't beat this experience. As for the service, what can I say. You are instantly greeted by Spyro and his staff. They do everything humanly possible to make your stay as fantastic and memorable as possible. No one could experience a better welcome and service. Warm, GENUINELY friendly faces, abounding smiles willing to do anything to make you happy. If stars count for friendliness and warmth, Spyro and his staff would get 10 stars! We went as guests and we left and true friends. Something that is certainly difficult to achieve in this day and age. I can't wait to go back. Kudos to Spyro, his sister and the rest of the staff!!

Our stay at the Apollonian Palace, short as it may have been, was the perfect example of Greek hospitality. Our ferry to Syros was delayed several hours and the staff was continually in touch regarding our arrival. We were spoiled with recommendations and accommodations. If you are looking for a place to stay in Syros, I can think of few better places than the Apollonian Palace.
