Great place and food in very nice surroundings. Pets no problem and rooms very nice. Ask for a room with a view of Gaustatoppen. Dinner and breakfast excellent. Prices are high in Norway so do not expect any bargain.

Interior face lifting has given the hotel the quality we missed some years ago. And of course we still have the stunning view of (Mount Gausta) Gaustatoppe. The kitchen was good, however, I would like to see a more interesting winelist.

Not very impressive food but good breakfast. Nice swimingpool and cozy fireplace in the lobby. Very good service, the staff was nice, the bartender was good and the music was terrible, the DJ was not very up to date

We stayed two nights at Gaustablikk. Our room was facing the Gausta mountain so we had great views. Staff at the reception was nice. The room was clean except for some flies and other insects behind the curtains by the window when we arrived. Wifi worked well in the room. The beds were fairly ok, except for the quilt, which...

i rented a cabin and stayed for five days. The cabin was nice and spacious with needed appliances but with an ancient crt tv. On the second day i went to eat in the restaurant and discovered they only served a limp buffet with an exorbitant cost. Needless to say i ate out the other days.

It looks like the local library of Rjukan renovated in 1980 and gave away their used furniture for the hotel to use. The rooms looks like a home for people with special needs. The carpet and the walls make you feel like you are in a waiting room for a doctors appointment. I can understand if this hotel does not...

It goes without saying that the location and scenery is amazing, resembling a Christmas picture post card. The hotel itself is very inviting and nice and warm, the big comfy leather sofa round an open log fire is just what is needed after a day in the snow. The food is buffet style, a wide selection and truly delicious. The...

The scenery is dramatic! Gaustatoppen towers above you and the hotel is right at the base of an alpine ski resort offering breathtaking views of the Rjukan Valley. There are also abundant cross country trails. The hotel itself needs upgrading, but the beds were nice and the food varied from average to excellent. For WWII buffs, you are just a...

I was there for the winter holiday at this great location. The staff is friendly, although the hotel itself is very 70's and need upgrading as others have pointed out. The room was ok, and the tiny bathroom was refurbished to modern standards. We were disappointed about the pool area, the water was plainly filthy and opaque and too cold...
