Denham Grove is nestled in a tranquil, park-like setting that garners appreciation from guests seeking peace and relaxation. While the hotel's rooms are often described as clean and spacious by some travelers, others suggest a need for updating and maintenance. Cleanliness generally receives praise, yet a few guests recommend improvements.
The hotel's value proposition receives mixed reviews, with certain guests commending the affordability and amenities such as the pool and gym, but others find the dining overpriced and the services hit-or-miss. Detailed Reviews
The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower dripped but was clean, the lighting was great with separate downlighters so one person could have their light on while the other slept, the cupboard was stocked with hangers and tea, coffee and biscuits. The window was locked which was a little perturbing but the blinds ensured a good nights sleep. The staff were very friendly and the food was very good, with a large selection of a variety of food at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Booked for 1 night, this hotel is situated quite literally in the middle of nowhere. A modern motel like hotel in appearance situated in beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside. Very quiet location and on arrival there was ample car parking space which is free. The reception area was clean and modern with a lone receptionist who was friendly and helpful.
The rooms are quite small and does not benefit from air conditioning which is n't an issue in the winter but may be in the summer. Normal mod cons but does not have a fridge. I found the bed quite uncomfortable and the pillows very hard, there was quite a lot noise from the other nearby rooms which made for a disturbed sleep. I did not receive a wake up call of which I asked. The bathroom was quite dated and tired looking, the bath taps were quite tricky to get the right temperature when running a bath.
I used the swimming pool which is of a good size and the facilities were good including a jacuzzi & sauna. As it was an early Sunday morning I had the pool to myself. Beware if you want to use the pool during weekdays they close it off for swimming lessons during certain hours.
I did not use the bar or restaurant so cannot comment. There is a public lounge with pool table and piano alongside the bar with views looking out of what seems like a huge field going into the distance.
I would rate this hotel very average, the rooms are not very comfortable but would suit a family with the facilities it has. Overall 3 stars.

We got married here in September 2019. Sallieann and the rest of the team at Denham Grove were amazing and so helpful in making it such a lovely day. I originally booked the venue after attending the wedding fayre held here on February 17th 2019. We originally booked before Sallieann started working at Denham Grove and it seems that she hadn't had the best handover from the previous coordinator however Sallieann done an amazing job regardless even with having to takeover god knows how many weddings at much shorter notice than mine. As soon as I met her she managed to calm all anxiety I was dealing with at the time and made everything so easy even though I was planning the wedding on my own due to my husband being abroad for work.
The day went off without a problem. Both me and my husband stayed at the hotel the night prior to the wedding. Sallieann made sure that the both of us were staying in opposite ends of the hotel and would not bump into each other in the morning. She was there all morning popping in and out to check on me which really helped calm nerves. All the food was amazing from breakfast to dinner to evening buffet.
The rooms were all lovely even the standard ones that my Bridesmaids had stayed in. The bridal suite though was amazing, best bit for me was the bath tub, the whole stay felt so special though.
A couple of my guests even decided on the night of the wedding that they would like to stay and the reception staff were very helpful. WE all then got to have breakfast together the next morning, even my mum who went back home the night of the wedding was able to come back and pay just for breakfast so that was great.
Overall I can't fault the hotel and all of the staff that worked on the day of our wedding on September 6th 2019, thank you very much.
I would definitely recommend this beautiful venue and the price of our package made it even better we even got a deal for a £300 bar tab for booking at the wedding fayre.

We got a buyagift stay with 3 course meal and fizz included. We were really looking forward to a relaxing romantic stay leaving our almost 5 and almost 2 year old (who we’ve never left). We booked the meal for 7:30 the day before.
When we arrived there was a big check in queue, the reception staff were really friendly and we asked if there was a function and it would be loud. They said the function hall isn’t near the room but they’ll put us somewhere fairly quiet and it was thankfully so for that we are grateful. The room had no towels though which we requested on our way out and wasn’t done when we came back 2 hours later but when we called down, the lovely reception lady was really apologetic and brought them up herself.
DINNER WAS A SHAMBLES! 7:30 we arrive as scheduled to be told they’re busy and they can’t take our order until 8. This was disappointing but we enjoyed our fizz. It all went downhill as although our order was taken just before 8, we did not see our food until gone 9!! No expectations were managed and us and the other diners were getting frustrated. I asked the waiter where our food is as we were hoping to be done by now and he said he’d ask the kitchen,
Only to return and serve someone else without a word. When he finally appeared after some time we got our starters. The food was basic at best. My starter was tofu with ‘ginger vegetables’, but came with like 4 pieces of tofu and melon and pineapple chunks which from my knowledge is fruit!!the main took ages as well. It was supposed to be chicken, fondant potato and broccoli in ‘rosemary jus’ but was flavourless school dinner chicken in bisto gravy! The dessert came out late too and I had to remind them the tart came with clotted cream which they didn’t put on the plate and had to come back with. We’d finished eating gone 10pm when we sat down at 7:30! The whole point of our stay was to have an early night and catch up on rest which was ruined!we get more sleep at home by the time we came back to the room. I did complain to manager and he let us get free drinks but damage was done. The other diners were furious too. There was no communication re any issues, no diffusing situation to come to us to apologise and offer us drinks and keep us informed. There was a lot of chasing and leaving us. They were catering a 70th in a room behind us who they were clearly prioritising and I know they were at full capacity but don’t take bookings if you can’t accommodate your customers. We aren’t fussy people but genuinely anyone and everyone would have been annoyed by the awful experience which was our whole child free evening sadly… no time for a nice walk after or anything. Really let us down! The breakfast was basic but ok. Again not very good service, no one asking if we want tea or coffee… having to chase after staff and ask. (Included photo to show no veg just fruit chunks)

Dear ACLewis, Thank you for your review following your recent stay with us and please accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience and disappointment you experienced as a result . You can be assured that we are all working extremely hard to address all the issues you pointed out which are all related to some degree to the current nationwide staff shortages affecting the hospitality industry and whilst I appreciate that it is not much consolation to you at this stage I am glad to say that the situation is gradually improving especially since the Government changed the NHS app "ping" response guidance . It would be greatly appreciated if you could contact me directly on the details below should you wish to hopefully give us another opportunity in the future to restore your faith in Denham Grove as I will personally ensure that your next visit is completely trouble free and fully enjoyable . I don’t normally write reviews but sadly this place was so disappointing and the standard of cleanliness in these Covid times was appalling. We arrived at 5pm and on the walk to our room the corridor floor was littered with dirty drinks glasses left outside people’s rooms. The room was spacious and the bed comfy. However, the toilet has clearly not been properly cleaned in a while. There were brown limescale stains under the rim clearly visible. We went to the bar for one drink. One of the waiters was pleasant and helpful the others just seemed disinterested. The bar top was full of dirty used glasses that looked to have been there a while. Fortunately we had booked to eat our evening meal elsewhere. We were shocked at breakfast, the staff were totality unwelcoming and unhelpful - a smile goes a long way. However the worst thing was the obvious lack of Covid precautions in the breakfast restaurant. It was a breakfast buffet where everyone in the restaurant was picking up and using all the utensils to serve the food. I spotted one bottle of hand gel on the desk near the entrance, clearly not sufficient for this situation. Nothing was pointed out by the staff. We asked for coffee and was told to use the machine where there were paper cups. The whole situation for us was particularly highlighted as we returned from Rhodes last week where the Greek hygiene was far superior. Gel on all tables, gloves for everyone to use the buffet tables constantly cleaned. It’s not difficult so I fail to understand the lack of care here. The other only Covid precaution we saw was a temperature check machine on the way in. We were not directed to use it nor was it acknowledged on check in . Very disappointing and needs to do better. Not value for the amount we paid.

We stayed at this hotel as a family of 5 in two rooms ( one family and one double deluxe). Check in was smooth and the lady was both professional and welcoming. The rooms were acceptable with the exception of finding chewing gum stuck to the side of one of the beds and the card holder in one room for lights and power not working properly! We did not expect great things given some of the reviews, but cleanliness in a hotel and fully functional power in your room would be basic expectation. The pool area needs attention, but the children enjoyed it and we just tried to overlook the state of the floors and unkempt changing rooms. The real problems started at dinner with both drinks and food orders being mistaken every time! This was our first trip away as a family and I didn’t even get to eat with my family as they forgot my meal and by the time they brought out the children’s dessert we had had to remind staff three times and waited over 40 minutes, it was too late🙄. Do not dine here!! The food is average at absolute best ( Chicken Caesar salad = small amount of chicken, lettuce, one egg cut into quarters, a bit of Parmesan and too much dressing, even a junior chef knows there is more to it than that). I politely refused to pay the bill initially as quite honestly there was no excuse for the staff incompetence, however as the discussion with the manager went on and we all became increasingly tired, I agreed to pay for the drinks and children’s main meal so we could all just go to bed, I really regret it now as it just wasn’t worth anything near what I paid! My family also heard staff being rude about me and other diners in the corridor outside the bar whilst they patiently waited, so very unprofessional! Disappointing and I would highly advise against using this hotel! I know it is used by local companies for convenience and so suspect this is the way it keeps afloat, however I will certainly be advising my company against using it in the future from now on until significant improvements are made.

The worst run and worst hotel experience of my life and anyone who gave this place a 5* rating are either part of the management’s or owner’s family or friends!
The rooms are nothing like the photos on the hotels website and are falsely advertised in offering complimentary water and mini bar as neither was available.
Every effort is made to cut corners from one pillow per person to just two small bottles of body wash, which never got replaced in a 3 night stay for a four person room. No ironing board and only 2 towels
Ants roamed freely in our room and feasted on the legs of my children while pubic hair clogged the soak hole in the shower, which had a door that didn’t close properly so shower water flowed onto the floor!!!
The food was average, nothing to praise!
The bar staff were slower than Zombies in an 80s B movie or maybe they could be just completely lazy and seemed oblivious to any encouragement they were given to speed things up. Be prepared to wait up to 30mins to get served if you have 2 people ahead of you!
The breakfast buffet is a shocking disaster! The food is tasteless and corpses are warmer, everything is self service including where you are seated, which will include the table not being cleaned and if you get lucky you might have a knife and fork.
One of the function rooms had spider webs that were filled with flies, so not that hard to see and clean if the management were bothered to look around which they clearly are not. They will however offer a smile but no apology for their short comings in how guests are treated!
Stay away is my advice as the price far out ways the level that the hotel is actually at, this Hotel is not in any way close to a 3* experience and it all stems from the management who have no clue how to run a hotel and the staff who are lazy as a result!

I took my mum to Denham Grove for afternoon tea as a birthday treat but it was the worst one we’ve ever had. When you first walk into The Grove the reception area is smart & well presented & you are greeted with a friendly receptionist who gives you directions on were you need to go. The bar area is comfortable but we were seated in a dark & gloomy room towards the back on our own. Considering we were the only ones there it took a while for the waiter to come over and serve us. He then asked if we would like tea or coffee, no tea selection. When the afternoon tea came, the roll with smoked salmon was dry & seemed like it had been left out for a while. This was the same for the lemon & poppy seed cake. The scones were so dry no matter has much cream you added they were un eatable. The worst or funniest part was when my mum asked to take a couple of the cakes home & the waiter brought out a roll of tin foil & handed it to my mum to wrap her own. This afternoon tea cost £50 & was definitely not value for money. It’s such a shame as I was thinking of booking this venue for my daughter’s birthday party early next year, but now I have tried the food no way!

I stayed here with friends for a party offsite.
The hotel wasn't straight forwards to find as further than the satnav showed us but not too difficult. Plenty of free parking. It was a busy reception as a wedding was going on when we arrived but check in was quick. The reception has a few lounge and arm chairs with carpeted corridors leading off it to the bar & lounge area, restaurant and to the bedrooms.
Our ground floor room was in need of updating as the furniture was a little tatty. There was a 2-drawered chest incorporated into a desk with a desk chair and a lamp, a full length mirror, 2 single beds not made up well with valance sheets that was too small, with a bedside table in between and a wardrobe with the iron & ironing board, safe, hair dryer and tea/coffee facility within it. There was a nice view of the woodlands. The bathroom was basic with a bath that had the shower incorporated in it with a shower head that had adjustable flow but not good for those with issues stepping up into it. There was the usual individual toiletries
My friend's room which was on the 1st floor near the restaurant was in a much better condition, seemed new and very modern. On entry was a dressing area that had a dressing table with a stool & mirror, a full length mirror and an extended wardrobe which acted as a room divider for the larger main area of the room. The main area had a living area consisting of a luxury settee infront of a wall mounted TV with a small TV unit underneath and a large padded stool. A door leading out to the balcony had views of the lawn, trendy pods for dining in & the wedding marquee. The large kingsize bed was behind the luxury settee with a trendy tall headboard. Their bathroom was a boutique style with his & her sinks, a stand alone oval bath tub and a separate double shower. It was definitely worth paying the £32 extra for this room.
The bar/lounge and the restaurant were both large with plenty of seating areas.
The swimming pool was an adequate size but busy the day we were there. The breakfast was excellent with a menu availble to choose the cold selection, cooked to order breakfast, and supplement payable extras. We did have a bit of a wait for the omelete but worth the wait.

My husband and I spent four days over Christmas on a bridge holiday at this hotel. The bridge part of the holiday could not be faulted. However, the hotel was a great disappointment. Firstly, the communal areas were very cold, mostly without heating. Our Christmas lunch was taken in a room which resembled a school gymnasium, completely lacking any atmosphere and I and others ate our lunch with our coats on. When asked about heating we were told it was 30°! One guest at our table asked if they were using Fahrenheit. The food was mediocre, obviously not freshly prepared. One course had frozen fruit I.e. fruit as hard as bullets straight from the freezer. They had forgotten to put serviettes on the table ( this was rectified at the last minute) and the pepper pot was empty.
The pool area and ladies change room left much to be desired, it requires a thorough deep cleaning. Tiles are filthy with areas of black slime present. When I brought this to the attention of a member of staff he informed me it was mopped every day.
As we stayed over Xmas when, I realise, staffing can be a problem I wonder if the staff at that time were unaccustomed to working in the service industry and in fact resented it. They rarely smiled or greeted guests in a friendly manner. When I pointed out at breakfast, that my coffee was cold, there was no apology but it was replaced with a warm cup. I was given the impression that it was impertinent of me not to be satisfied with a cold cup of coffee.
After Xmas a few new staff members appeared, whose attitude was definitely better. On my last morning I went to reception to request a key to the fitness centre and was greeted by a very pleasant young lady who greeted me with a smile and “good morning.” The first in 4 days! Previously there had been no greeting and I had to go and search for a member of staff in order to get the key as the reception was unattended.
I could go on with further examples of poor service but I think I’ve got my point over. I note other reviewers have included pictures of the dirty tiles In their reviews. However, management has obviously chosen to ignore this issue. I would not recommend this establishment.
