Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Bed was very uncomfortable and we had stains on the bedding . Bathroom was not very clean. We tried to talk to reception about our problems but they had no interest at all. We struggled to sleep all weekend and both had a very achy back after the first night. We even tried to reach out after our stay regarding the stay and got nowhere to even talk to someone.

Excellent parking. Clean & tidy both in the reception areas and my room. Arrived back after a night out with friends and were welcomed by Di & Yulia. They served us drinks and lovely pizza’s. They were friendly and very accommodating. Will definitely stay again.

Stayed here for a month for work and the staff were lovely, especially Irita! Nothing was too much trouble and it was a very pleasant experience. I would definitely stay here again in the future. Located very close to the ferry so ideal for popping over to Portsmouth!

This is definitely a place to stay for a few nights. It is close to all amenities. Dog friendly and close to a park with lakes that are used by model boating club. Marina and submarine museum within walking distance. Ferry to Portsmouth at end of Street. Cheap and quick. Gun Wharf Quays for shopping. Portsmouth Dockyard, but beware if you have a dog you cannot take it in. But in general great for a few days and there is free parking with your booking. Very relaxed and friendly and that was all staff, from receptionists, to cleaners to cooks. We enjoyed our 3 night stay.

Water leaked into room in the middle of the night down the light fittings, dripping onto the carpet. also very bright room due to outside street light, which is 4ft from the window it would be easy to have a better blind or curtains

Food choices could be better especially the sausages at breakfast NEED to be changed! Add more fresh fruit options too

Stayed for business but didn’t get to explore too much. Didn’t try food etc so that’s why 3 stars as I couldn’t judge othwise may be different. Room was easy to find and clean, few bits of wear and tear but nothing to grumble about especially for the price. Located in centre of town, not far from weatherspoons or a 5 minute walk to the ferry port with what I would imagine are nice views just got dark early when I went. Back entrance where car park is a little grubby but again nothing major, probably only really mention without a sat nav car park wouldn’t be very clear to find. All in all not bad stay and if away on a short trip would stay here again.
