Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Highly recommend the new eatery restaurant on the river. We were greeted yesterday by Pete one of the owners who made everyone feel welcome the moment we stepped in the door. We arrived and requested we sat outside as the weather was nice and they accommodated straight away, unbelievable service and the food was amazing and such good value for money, one of the best places in the area we’ve been too for service, food and views of the country side. Can’t wait to go back.

What can I say apart from amazing! Pete, George, Sarah, Rob and the Bistro team are amazing. Always on hand to help were needed. Pods are amazing, really comfortable and snug! The new bistro is excellent and the Morreti on tap is superb! (Would recommend 👌). They really have put the investment/effort in and the results are exceptional! All in all I would really recommend as a base for exploring the local area.

Stumbled across this little hidden gem on the way to Brecon, brand new cafe with a vast selection of cakes and coffee. Beautiful surroundings, you get the feel of being on holiday. Friendly staff and sorry we missed the arrival of your chef by a day but I’m sure the food will be as fantastic as the setting. Also dog friendly 🙂

Wonderful site location, right on the beautiful river We stayed in the luxury lodge, which was a perfect size for a couple and our Dachshund. Absolutely nothing was left out in the lodge, everything you need in the kitchen, fabulous shower, really comfy bed and spotlessly clean. Even on the outside veranda, comfy chairs, cushions and throws provided too, with everything required to light the fire pit too. George and his dad, Peter were extremely friendly and helpful as well, and very informative about the surrounding area. We hired a canoe on the Sunday morning and had a fun time canoeing from Hay back to the campsite, it was hard work, but that’s because we’re a bit old, and a bit unfit!! Felt very safe, and everything was fully explained before we set out Can’t recommend this spot enough, well worth a visit, and lots to do in the local area

Before we set off, we were given excellent, and very thorough instruction on how to use the canoe, with a brief supervised practice session. This made the day's canoeing relatively easy. The river is beautiful; egrets, herons, kingfishers.

We wanted to try canoeing as we have never done before and we found them online. Both guys we have met and talk were really nice and helpful. The camping site seemed really clean and very well looked after. Before we jump into the canoes we went through some training and safety measures, Rob made sure that everyone would know what we were doing, before we leave he sent us for a trial run in front of the camp to make sure we were fine. In the end of the trip he was waiting for us asking about the experience and if we have enjoyed it. This is a sign of people who care about what they do

We stayed here at the start of August and combined our overnight stay with a full day's canoe adventure. We stayed in pod 4 and the view of the river was wonderful. The pod is orientated so that it offered a sense of privacy even though it is a stones throw away from the shower/kitchen facilities. The staff are professional and friendly, and we were made to feel very welcome. We will definitely be returning in the future.

We had a wonderful morning canoeing. We were lucky enough to get in at the last minute (as we weren't organised to book in advance!) and were very impressed. The leader's instructions at the start were very clear, he was excellent with the kids who were in our group and everything we needed was provided, including dry bags for all our stuff. The canoe down the river was very straightforward with a few very light rapids along the way - it was absolutely beautiful and peaceful but some nice spots to stop to soak up the nature. We wish we'd signed up for a full day instead of a half day! The site itself was very clean, modern and well equipped - we didn't stay but the glamping pods had gorgeous views.
