Wonderful site location, right on the beautiful river We stayed in the luxury lodge, which was a perfect size for a couple and our Dachshund. Absolutely nothing was left out in the lodge, everything you need in the kitchen, fabulous shower, really comfy bed and spotlessly clean. Even on the outside veranda, comfy chairs, cushions and throws provided too, with everything required to light the fire pit too. George and his dad, Peter were extremely friendly and helpful as well, and very informative about the surrounding area. We hired a canoe on the Sunday morning and had a fun time canoeing from Hay back to the campsite, it was hard work, but that’s because we’re a bit old, and a bit unfit!! Felt very safe, and everything was fully explained before we set out Can’t recommend this spot enough, well worth a visit, and lots to do in the local area

Before we set off, we were given excellent, and very thorough instruction on how to use the canoe, with a brief supervised practice session. This made the day's canoeing relatively easy. The river is beautiful; egrets, herons, kingfishers.

We wanted to try canoeing as we have never done before and we found them online. Both guys we have met and talk were really nice and helpful. The camping site seemed really clean and very well looked after. Before we jump into the canoes we went through some training and safety measures, Rob made sure that everyone would know what we were doing, before we leave he sent us for a trial run in front of the camp to make sure we were fine. In the end of the trip he was waiting for us asking about the experience and if we have enjoyed it. This is a sign of people who care about what they do

We stayed here at the start of August and combined our overnight stay with a full day's canoe adventure. We stayed in pod 4 and the view of the river was wonderful. The pod is orientated so that it offered a sense of privacy even though it is a stones throw away from the shower/kitchen facilities. The staff are professional and friendly, and we were made to feel very welcome. We will definitely be returning in the future.

We had a wonderful morning canoeing. We were lucky enough to get in at the last minute (as we weren't organised to book in advance!) and were very impressed. The leader's instructions at the start were very clear, he was excellent with the kids who were in our group and everything we needed was provided, including dry bags for all our stuff. The canoe down the river was very straightforward with a few very light rapids along the way - it was absolutely beautiful and peaceful but some nice spots to stop to soak up the nature. We wish we'd signed up for a full day instead of a half day! The site itself was very clean, modern and well equipped - we didn't stay but the glamping pods had gorgeous views.

I spent a fantastic three days canoeing down the River Wye. Two dads and their fifteen year old sons. We camped a night at Whitney Bridge, a night at Byecross then finished in Hereford. I can’t recommend this company more highly. Lovely camping site, clean facilities, camping Pods for hire and good quality canoes and equipment. Friendly, helpful staff. A very professional set up.

If I could rate more than 5 I would. Amazing stay in one of the cabins over looking the river. The staff/owners are so friendly. Did a half day canoe trip which I would highly recommend! Really comfy beds and was so peaceful. Will definitely be booking to go back in the future.

Wonderful business, clean, well maintained equipment. A safety briefing and instruction ensured we got the most of the canoes we'd hired for half a day. The (famous) Peter and his staff were all helpful and pleasant. Can recommend and we'll likely go again.

Whitney bridge campsite was our last stop on our road trip through Wales before heading home, It was definitely the most comfortable place we stayed, and the hosts were very generous with firewood, and letting us use the pitch they usually give to larger groups. The canoeing was also well organized and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. would recommend it to a friend for certain!!
